We enjoyed our stay here and everything was as it should be - friendly professional staff , clean rooms , comfortable bed. The rooms are starting to look a little dated but nothing is broken / worn etc . It is a typical IC so is very large and a little bit impersonal. There was s conference whilst we there so was busy but that didn’t impact upon us . We had breakfast which was good , usual buffet fare , egg /omelette station and a coffee stand where you can order coffee made exactly to your liking . The area is a little seedy - it’s not far to walk and didn’t really bother us and we never felt unsafe. However if I was to return to Athens I’d probably stay somewhere a little more central.

Hotel's Favorite
Really clean, big rooms. We stayed in 2 huge inter-connecting rooms, which was perfect for our family of 4 adults and had a lovely big relaxing area to all relax and spend time together. Excellent house keeping staff and thank you to Gianina for tending to our rooms daily. Staff were so helpful when we accidentally locked ourselves out! Room service and restaurant food was delicious , although menu bit limited and not many veggie options but view of Acropolis from Premiere was absolutely amazing. Menu on website seems to suggest a wider range than was actually available at the restaurant eg website shows tasting menus and veggie menus so would recommend that is removed if no longer up to date. Hotel is about 20-25 minute walk to many of the main sights along a main road, one of the road crossings is a little difficult but there are lots of nearby cafes to grab drinks or snacks and the walk into Plaka and the sights is very easy. Hotel is really big, staff including bell boys, reception staff and room service and restaurant staff are so helpful and friendly and we loved it as a base for our first visit to Athens. Would very happily stay here again when I visit again in the future and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Athens.

I have been coming to Greece for many, many years. I had stayed at what is now the Grand Hyatt many times. It used to be another property. I booked the InterContinental, which is very close, using my Platinum American Express. While I was worried the area was seedy, it is much better and friendlier now than in years past. The room was clean, and the bed was what you need after a long flight. Breakfast was okay, and I don't have any complaints, except getting coffee was a slight challenge due to the wait staff being busy. The walk to tourist areas is lovely if you are used to Athens and are up for some exercise. I don't remember the lady who checked us in, but she was excellent. The concierge helped us resolve a baggage issue with BA. Also, the restaurant Messina down the street had food that was to die for—a great way to get out and enjoy a great meal. There was slight confusion over my bill. After e-mailing, it was resolved with minimum effort by Marios Nassiakos. I come for multiple month-long visits yearly, and this may be my new go-to hub for Athens.

Exceptionally clean with helpful staff. Large, well appointed and quiet room. You do need to buy/pay for the breakfast (amazing) but should receive a discount if you are an IHG rewards client. Or purchase that bnb plan when booking. Only downside is that it’s difficult to walk to the Plaka district (depending on age and ability anyway). Taxis were plentiful and cheap but you must be careful they are “on the meter”.

Dated hotel. Service in the club room was good, but one of our two rooms wasn’t ready when we landed. That wasn’t the problem, that’s typical however, when we were given the key to the room once ready, there was someone already in the room. Thankfully, they weren’t there, just their stuff. The tub was like nothing I’ve seen before. The tub was so narrow we couldn’t shower facing the water. We had to place one foot in front of the other. None of us have particularly large feet.

Although the nearby buildings look a bit dodgy, the hotel is very good. I had a lovely welcome reception, lovely staff and a huge variety of services made available to me. The room had a very good size, top cleaning service, and was quiet too. It offers a very good selection of bars, restaurants and rooftop views of the Acropole. As part of the IHG community, this hotel offers a great service value to customers.

The property was lovely. It’s an elegant, modern, cavernous space with dark woods & a luxurious feel. The staff go overboard to be gracious & hospitable. Our room was huge. The bathroom was fantastic but it did have that European raised platform tub & the half glass wall shower protecter. There was a large countertop, a toilet & a bidet. The flusher for the toilet was wall mounted which was odd & hard to operate. The breakfast buffet was amazing. The number of delicious choices was almost overwhelming. You are treated to a view of the lovely pool, which truly maximized the outside space. Because we were there before the summer season opened, we were not able to use the pool. The concierge was so sweet. He answered all my dumb questions with patience and a warm smile. The view from the rooftop bar restaurant offers a spectacular view but the staff up there were a tad cold for our tastes. In contrast the staff at the lobby bar were friendly and welcoming. One introduced us to her favorite Greek wine. The other always had a warm smile. His professionalism was even more impressive when we learned that his cousin had just died the day before. I think his name was David for any managers reading this review We couldn’t see anything from our room because there was a blue tinted office building in the way. As a tourist the location was not the best. This is a business hotel. There was a conference going on while we were there & we didn’t interact with them at all. For business it’s probably awesome. To get to Syntagma square, the main part of the City, you either had to travel through a seedy area, past porn stores, abandoned buildings & a police station to the metro station or take a taxi / car service. Fortunately, they were plentiful, lining the circular drive. The bellman efficiently hailed a car for you when you needed a ride. There wasn’t much in the area. One side was commercial & seemed deserted. Even on weekdays we didn’t see a lot of people out & about. Surprisingly there weren’t even lunch places. If you didn’t want to eat / drink in the hotel, you did not have other convenient choices nearby. We stayed in the city center all day; once we were out we did not return to the hotel. Overall this was one of the most valued priced Intercontinental hotels I have ever heard of. If we do return to Athens, I don't think we would stay here because of the location but I'm glad we treated ourselves this time.

What a lovely and quite fancy hotel! We booked on last minute.com and got a great deal so were not expecting such luxury ! We are pretty fussy about where we stay, so this place did not disappoint. The biggest foyer and the nicest I have seen in a long time and a great breakfast buffet and a relaxing ( but pricey ) piano bar for resting after a day out. Our room had a bumper view of the Acropolis, which we were also not expecting and the hotel is a 10 euro taxi ride from the ancient Acropolis and the accompanying museums. I would stay there again although it was too far to walk to certain attractions.
