I've spent only one night at the Amalia Hotel for business but the impression has been very good. Smart and kind staff, good services, excellent breakfast and a good quality/price ratio for this hotel in the center of Athens.

Ideal location - public transport just outside the hotel, but we didn't use it, as all the major sites of the city were within walking distance. We got a taxi from the airport, when we realised it was a flat fare of 38 euros to any city centre hotel. We were going to get the bus, but as this was... More

Pros: Location - ideal situation just a short walk from the Metro station and opposite the National Gardens. Staff - very professional without exception. Food - large breakfast room on a mezzanine floor with high-quality buffet. Decor - public areas well decorated and up-to-date. Cons: The only major negative was that although my room was large and well-appointed, it was... More

I have nothing but praise for this hotel. It's located right in the center of Athens, a 5 min. walk to Syntagma square and the Hellenic Parliarment and, with immediate access to tram and underground lines. The historic neighbourhood of Plaka is only 10 min. away on foot and so is the 'must see' Acropolis Meuseum. Cross the road (Leoforos... More

When we booked our vacation, we didn't have a clue which hotel to stay in at the beginning and end of our trip to Greece. We ended up choosing this hotel because of the location on the map and nothing else and we are so glad that we did. It is a very clean and modern hotel, free wifi, friendly... More

Attended a conference at nearby hotel and wanted a well located, appropriate place nearby. The rooms are spacious, excellent amenities and clean, comfortable bed. The wifi worked well and the breakfast which was included had a great variety to choose from. Close to Syntagma metro station, steps to the major shopping street and a short walk to the Acropolis. Great... More

Everything was perfect! Great location, near the main market of Ermou street. Very very clean hotel, helpful staff and polite. Breakfast had everything we were looking for and generally their kitchen (lunch and dinner) was absolutely full of quality. Room was not for four stars, but for five stars! Value for money 100%.

We stayed as a family of four in this hotel for three nights. Booked one of the "interconnecting" rooms which is essentially a "deluxe" room and a "classic" room with a connecting door. The location is fantastic with walking distance to national gardens, plaka, monastiraki, syntagma, etc. Hotel is in a very lively area and convenient. The airport bus stops... More

If you are staying in Athens for a few days, this is the hotel you should stay at. First, the staff were very efficient and helpful. The rooms we were at had a balcony and a view of the Parliament building. At the rooftop you have a great view of the Parthenon. Second, if you will take a day cruise... More

Top quality, centrally located hotel - just minutes from Greek Parliament, main square, train and bus connections to airport and a short walk to ALL the top attractions. Staff were exceptionally friendly and gave us an extra early (few hours) check in. As was so central, we used it as a base in between attractions. WIFI very slow though. Highly... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighborhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
