Classical in its architecture and design, blending beautifully with the noble historical buildings of the Plaka area, the hotel’s elegant luxury is complemented by the majestic views of the Acropolis that can be enjoyed from the rooftop restaurant, pool, rooms and suites. Marble bathrooms; soft duvets; handmade carpets; custom furniture; these are but a few of the details that make the Electra Palace Athens luxuriously enjoyable. The amenities of our hotel will leave you wanting for nothing more: for your comfort and enjoyment, here you will find satellite T.V.s, laptop size electronic safes, Wi-Fi internet connection, and fully equipped bathrooms with hair dryer, bathrobes and slippers, magnifying mirror and more. Wander through the ancient Agora and visit the Parthenon – then wonder at its glory, all dramatically lit at night, from the balcony of your room. Stroll around the city under the autumn rain, then warm up in the hotel’s sauna. Relax after a day’s hard work - or blow off some steam - at the indoor pool or our gym. Enjoy our delicious contemporary greek cuisine at the award winning “Electra Palace Roof Garden” or at the “Motivo” in the lounge, or with a drink at the “Duck Tail”, our British inspired bar. For bigger celebrations or for business events in the heart of Athens, our hotel’s five-star service extends to our seven meeting rooms and ballrooms: fully equipped, air-conditioned and naturally lit, our halls can cater for up to 350 people for any event type, no matter how formal: host your business meeting here, or organize a successful conference. Or, have the reception or banquet of your dreams, tasteful and impeccable, a festive testament to your own sophisticated style.

Nestled in the heart of the city, Electra Palace Athens garners acclaim for its splendid rooftop views and delectable breakfast offerings. Guests have called out the prime location as a launchpad for exploring the city's attractions with ease. Many vouch for the hotel's cleanliness, modern bathrooms, and its overall ambiance that features stunning decor.
While the rooms' comfort and cleanliness are well-regarded, opinions vary on size and modernity. Service is generally celebrated for its professionalism, though not without a few noted exceptions. Despite mixed feelings on value, the rooftop pool and bar remain popular highlights.

Hotel's Favorite
It is very rare I feel obliged to review a hotel stay.
But this hotel deserves every bit of praise and more!! Again, booking something at the last minute required only convenience so the @electrapalaceathens met all the requirements.
What I didn't realize is the rooftop view was more incredible than the pictures I saw online (pics never do anything justice). Yes, I was obsessed with the view!! But the service, the attention, the absolute professional and friendly atmosphere of the entire staff was something I have only experienced in a 5-star hotel in NYC.
This hotel has nothing to envy from any hotel in the world when it comes to service. The food was superb, top chef quality. The drinks were amongst the best I have had in Europe. The room was spacious with an additional sitting area (I regret not upgrading to a suite with the Acropolis view, but then again we were only here for a short time).
Definitely, if I ever have an opportunity to visit Athens again, this will likely be the only place I would consider for 1,000 reasons and more.
PS. Now that Greece is off season, the rate was extremely reasonable, but not sure what it would be during peak season. Either way, totally worth every penny!!

We came back to this hotel 4 months after our previous visit. This time we were a group of 5 couples and each one of us enjoyed our hotel's stay.
The location is superb - in walking distance to almost all of Athens attractions. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms size is quite "acceptable". I would expect A 5 star hotel to leave 2 bottles of water every morning in the room, and "save" the call to room service for the water. Larger towels will also help.
Public areas are large and comfortable, and the morning breakfast is superb, especially when you mix the quality of the food and the beauty of the view, including the acropolis just in front.
The service of the hotel's stuff is excellent, very friendly and warm. we were a group of 10 friends and the hotel arranged for us transportation of A large Minibus any time we requested, with reasonable prices.

Stayed here for 7 days,we enjoyed every day of it. The hotel is central to everything and easy to get around. The Staff are cheerful and the room was cleaned everyday. In the evening they get the beds ready for night time with a chocolate each placed on the bed with menu of breakfast order if you need it in room. The breakfast in morning was off high standard and you can sit outside and enjoy the views, while planning your daily trip. Thank you for a great experience and we will hopefully get back.

Greece is beautiful. It has stunning beaches and coastlines, mountains, islands and wonderful food. But the best part of Greece is its people. They are gracious from start to finish.
We booked Acropolis view rooms at Electra Palace Athens following a seven day NCL cruise. Corresponding with their concierge before the trip, I found them to be very responsive and helpful. For example, I had my Parthenon tickets and ground transportation booked before I ever arrived.
We arrived around 10am, check-in was at 3pm. They stored our luggage while took a private tour. The entire hotel was clean and COVID conscious. The room was fully sanitized, even the TV remote came wrapped in plastic. The bed was comfortable, the shower was large, most everything was made of marble. The hotel is finely decorated with art and sculpture. From the balcony, you will have a view of the Acropolis, and the sunset. This is most impressive at night after the sunset and the Acropolis is lit up with flood lights.
Electra Palace is in the Plaka neighborhood. This is a safe area with access to plenty of shopping and restaurants. I recommend buying your Acropolis tickets ahead of time and going at 8am when it opens to avoid crowds. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the Acropolis main entrance.
Electra also offers COVID-19 tests for your return trip to the U.S. at the Electra Metropolis. This is a two minute walk from Electra Palace. Testing is from 11:30am to 1pm. My only complaint was the waiting. It was more than an hour standing in a very short line to get tested. The test is ten euros per person. You can pay with cash or VISA.
The hotel has a rooftop restaurant with three sided glass walls; you have views of the acropolis from any seat. Breakfast was complimentary and unlike “continental breakfast” in the US this was an actual meal with eggs, meats, fruits, pastries, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice.
The staff at the hotel were courteous and helpful at all times. I strongly recommend Electra Palace Athens.

My experience with this hotel, during this time of Covid, was indeed excellent. Everything in the room, including towels, toiletries, even floor and bath mats, came in separately sealed strong plastic bags , and it was obvious that the room had been properly cleaned. Helen, at reception was excellent (multi tasking continuously)... the hotel has a very pleasant rooftop restaurant overlooking the Acropolis, and the food is not bad, although trying to be more of a fusion/modern cuisine than an excellent Greek one. The location, being right smack at Plaki makes it an excellent choice for any stay in Athens.

We booked a central hotel so that we could access all the sights early in the morning or later in the day. We loved this place, the pool has one of the most awesome backdrops to swim in front of (see pic) and the breakfast bar has good food and views of the acropolis. Our room was on the front of the hotel which at first was a concern but the streets are not too noisy. We were able to walk to most places from this central location and over our three days we saw loads of the city. This hotel is definitely on the pricey side, however when you take in the location, the friendly staff, the great pool, the good breakfast and the views it is well worth the value....worth treating yourself :-)

We chose the hotel because of its location and good review and I booked it (through Hotels.com) for the weekend 15-17 Feb 2020 for the family as it was a gift to them for Valentine.
Unfortunately our flight which was going to fly on Sat 15 Feb was cancelled from London Gatwick to Athens because of Dennis Storm in the UK. We were informed about the cancellation by the Airline late evening on Friday (14 Feb). The whole family was really upset that our holiday which we planned for was cancelled. I contacted Hotels.com immediately and told them about the situation and asked them to talk to the hotel for cancellation and refund as it was entirely out of our control that the flight was cancelled. Hotels.com was really cooperative and contacted Electra Palace immediately (while I was on the phone) but no one regarding the booking was available at the hotel and was told to call the hotel again the next day or so. So hotels.com contacted them on the next couple of days.
Today, they informed us that Electra Palace Hotel has denied our request because of their reservation policy. We are so disappointed that the hotel has no understanding of the situation as we couldn't get there because of the storm and flight cancellation. Avoid booking this hotel if you want to have cooperative and accommodating people and hotel.

Dear Forum member Thank you for your email and for the feedback regarding your booking at the Electra Palace. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and the change of your travel plans. Your room was booked through the online TA on non refundable basis which means that you had already pay with strickt terms of payment and cancelation in order to get a special rate. Also due to the high demand of that day hotel was full-the room you have booked remained empty. Please refer to your airline in order to claim, whether possible, the cancellation fees of your room. We remain at your disposal for any further and we look forward to welcome you in the future All the best

We stayed in a junior suite - plenty of room and a nice balcony. due to covid restrictions housekeeping were not allowed in the room when we were there but when asked they brought fresh towels, toiletries ect. Good communal areas, nice garden and seating areas. Very limited sunbeds available round the pool - small space - beautiful if you could get a space but very limited. friendly staff at reception

Electra Palace Athens is one of the most luxurious, maybe the most luxurious hotel in Athens, ideally located in Plaka at the foothills of Acropolis. It was a real treat being there in August and I was pretty satisfied with my stay at the hotel; my room and the service provided. In fact, hotel staff has been rather handy and polite, they couldn’t do more to respond to my needs.
The main lounge, the breakfast area and the lobby café were decorated in classical style. Guestrooms reveal refined elegance and are well taken care of, the pool on the 4th floor is infinity with superb views, while there is a stunning rooftop bar restaurant on the 8th floor where the views there are to die for, while the staff was doing its best to provide discreet and friendly service.
It is clear that the hotel management tries hard, in order to keep the hotel up to date, by perfectly maintaining the rooms and communal areas; and although the hotel is not new, they have recently upgraded some infrastructure. Only issue was a strange odor in 4th floor (maybe chlorium from pool) but the staff professionalism and the service quality really compensated for that!
In general, the hotel and the services provided to me were of a good level, the accommodation quality was rather high. My stay was a remarkable one and all of my demands were fulfilled by the staff as smooth a baby's sleep. Electra Palace is a great hotel, probably the best to pick when in Athens.

I chose this hotel for my stay in Athens because I liked its interior design and on that score I was not disappointed. Electra Palace is a lovely hotel, created with an exceptional taste and attention to detail. The beautiful wooden furnishings and details offer a welcome respite from the horrid modern designs embraced by many hotels nowadays. Standard rooms are on the small side but this is what could be expected from a European hotel in central location. There is a nice restaurant on the top floor with beautiful views and lovely staff. Breakfast was OK.
Unfortunately, some aspects of the present running of the hotel do not seem to match the perfection of the original design. For example, there was no towel rack or shelf in the bathroom (or, more precisely, a shelf under the sink was under construction at that very moment) and consequently, there were no large towels in the bathroom. At first I thought that this was an omission of housekeeping but incidentally, I found the towels in the wardrobe. It seemed odd that the work in the bathroom had not been completed before offering this room for occupancy. But most importantly, see below.
Reception staff is very inefficient in handling special requests and can benefit from better training. I am very sensitive to noise and always request rooms away from the elevator and high-traffic areas. I also find insufficient daylight depressing and prefer rooms on a higher floor. I received a vague response to the request I submitted with my reservation more than three weeks before arrival, something to the effect that they would be happy to fulfil my requirements if availability allows. Unsure what this meant, I sought a clarification explaining that the assurance of getting a comfortable room is important to me when I make a decision to stay at any particular hotel. I received two replies from two different persons that were exactly the same as the first one – blah blah blah if availability allows. I have travelled a lot but have never been confronted with such an inattentive and careless staff attitude, which bordered on arrogance, at a hotel which has given itself five stars. Wondering whether I should cancel the reservation, I decided to call the hotel and this time I spoke with someone who was most reassuring and promised that I would get a suitable room. Imagine my surprise when upon arrival I discovered that no suitable room had been reserved for me. Moreover, since I arrived in the evening the so-called "availability" was not great. The receptionist on duty took pains to find me an acceptable room and this process along with some other issues took some time. I was tired, felt unwell, and needed to sit down in the middle of the longest check-in I have ever been put through. I found the whole hassle unpleasant and unnecessary, and certainly not something I would want to go through ever again. Unlike other hotels which allocate rooms in advance taking into consideration special requests, Electra Palace seems to leave everything to chance. More attention to planning, better staff training, and adoption of best practices could lead to an improvement in service.
