Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Excellent stay at Electra Athens Hotel. The hotel is lively, rooms are clean and well maintained, with deluxe amenities. The breakfast buffet is on the last floor, providing nice view of the Acropolis. Staff are polite and cheerful. Fofi at the reception and Eric at the breakfast resto were just amazing. They make your stay special. Eric even accommodated us earlier for the breakfast due to our flight schedule. Thank you Eric and Fofi. The location on Ermou street is a plus for travelers. Ermou is the pedestrian shopping street of Athens, and you have a variety of dining options. If you are looking for halal options, Babaji Kitchen is around the corner. The hotel is walking distance to the main tourist attractions: Acropolis, Monastiraki, Syntagma Square, Panathenaic Stadium and Plaka. Staying there, you save time and transport costs. Keep up the standard, we will definitely come back.

The hotel is very nice and centrally located. I was in Athens for a Business trip. His strategic position is perfect cause is really close to Syntagma. The surrounding is full of different type of restaurants. The area is very good connected. The staff is good and available to help. Rooms are well equipped, they provide vanity set and they use very good quality products. They even offer two bathrobe per room. The only drawback was the size of the room, very small. The the icing on the cake is the rooftop with a stunning Acropoli view where they serve breakfast in the morning and rooftop bar in the evening.

I booked a room in this hotel for the first time which was more expensive than an apartment I usually stay in. The reception staff was spotless, the room clean and tidy but small and inconvenient. The bathroom was so small that you had to be careful not to have an accident. Breakfast was modest and staff very welcoming and kind. But on Saturday 14/12/19 breakfast was a nightmare. At 09.25am I went to the restaurant with my wife for breakfast. There was a murmur among the customers and then I found that there was hardly any food or plain bread. This lasted until 10.05 with the staff paying a generous fee to serve the customers but to no avail because it was obvious that the coordination was missing. It is unacceptable for a hotel with such a good reputation to allow such things to happen.
