This is a beautifully renovated hotel. It's an hold historic building that has been converted to a boutique hotel. It is truly stunning! Very thoughtful design. When we arrived, the staff at the front desk offered us a drink, and upgraded our room at no cost. We climbed the beautifully renovated stairs and entered a suite with a charming balcony and spa-like bathroom (with Jo Malone beauty products - what a nice touch!) Our breakfast was served in our room the next morning, from a large menu to select from. So tasty - get the avocado toast! This hotel was such a nice surprise, and we will definitely be back!
We had pre-arranged a transfer from the airport but it’s a straightforward metro ride. This is a beautifully converted property. We had a lovely room with balcony and Acropolis view over rooftops. Quiet with a very comfortable bed. Lovely Jo Malone bathroom products. Great area with lots of bars and restaurants and close to many sights. The atmosphere is relaxed. The hotel staff were all lovely and also very helpful. Breakfast on our balcony (or served on the roof terrace) was excellent. Complimentary bottles of water and coffee provided daily. Very reasonable wine available (and accompanied by an unexpected and excellent cheese plate) and sensibly-priced minibar. We would not hesitate to stay again. Easy train transfer to Piraeus for our onward travel.
[Written by my wife] Let me preface this review by saying, I have dreamt of going to Athens since I was 10 years old. I've never been someone with a bucket list of places to travel, I'm usually content with a beach somewhere hot with cocktails. Athens is literally the only place I've actively wanted to visit. I can tell you that, in no small part due to Asomaton, it was amazing. I didn't want to half-ass it, and booking the hotel was very important for that. We arrived from the Monistraki Metro late afternoon, with the walk to the hotel being only 5-10 minutes depending on the route you take. It's set toward the edge of the Psyrri neighbourhood, a lively, youthful area. Surrounded by dozens of bars and restaurants and cafes; you're never short of options. The hotel itself is stunning, the decor the perfect mix of classic Grecian and modern comforts. The pool size and location is slightly odd, in the lobby in full view of the front desk so I'm not sure how comfortable I would have felt taking a dip, but aesthetically it's beautiful. The staff are incredibly welcoming and go above and beyond to help wherever they can. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor, with a door to the terrace (kind of makes the swipe in security door redundant because it's accessible to literally anyone in the hotel, but it didn't bother me). It's decorated so beautifully, always extremely clean, and great amenities such as Turkish delight on arrival, a mini fridge, and Nespresso machine. I wasn't keen on the window between the bedroom and the toilet, and the bathroom door that doesn't fully shut but my husband and I just took advantage of the rooftop terrace views when necessary! The breakfast on offer was amazing, fresh bread rolls, a spanakopita style pastry, fresh cakes, selection of cheeses and ham, and the most delicious Greek yoghurt and honey. In addition to the continental selection, we were able to choose how we wanted our eggs cooked, which were served with toast, as well as what hot drink we'd like. We were able to choose where to take our breakfast - our room, the lobby or the roof. We chose the roof every time, the view of the Acropolis + Parthenon, Temple of Hephaestus and Kerameikos was just unbeatable. It took about an hour wandering leisurely to the Acropolis south entrance, taking in the neighbourhoods and browsing shops, having a drink etc but could be walked in probably 30 minutes (and really it's so worth walking rather than getting a metro or bus). The Ancient Agora took maybe 10 minutes to walk to directly, and the Kerameikos no more than 3 minutes - it's right on the doorstep. The staff were so accommodating, one night we chose to get some food from the local shops and have dinner on the roof looking at the Parthenon all lit up, and the staff set up a table with plates and cutlery and bowls for us. With the blanket from our bedroom taken with us to shield from the wind it was lovely - although I would strongly recommend the introduction of terrace heaters! The only thing I regret was only staying 3 nights - we will definitely be back. As soon as possible.…
What a wonderful hotel and how happy we were to find it reviewed in the February KLM inflight magazine (Holland Herald). The reception staff were very friendly and professional, the loft with terrace room was spacious and immaculately clean, the bed was perfect and the rainwater shower was complete with Jo Malone Lime, Basil and Mandarin products. My favourite! We will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to family and friends. Thank you for a wonderful 5 nights.
Recently visited Athens and stayed in 4 hotels in as many nights to get a good feel for the city. This was definitely our favourite. Very reasonable price. The staff was lovely and the design was exceptional. Very nice bathroom amenities. Would definitely stay here again
Amazing hotel and great location, best ever reception staff, Karina. You are the best 👌👌thank you so much for all your recommendations and best places to eat. We had a lovely stay and totally recommend this hotel
I would definitely stay here again to explore athens. The staff is great and helpful. The room is surprisingly spacious and the breakfast on the rooftop terrace was delightful with a view of the acropolis! Actually really nice place you should stay here!
Stayed for one night as ferry from Sifnos didn't tie in with flight time but meant there wasn't too much travelling in one day. Got a taxi from Pireus Port about 20 minutes away. After struggling to find the door for the hotel (as its not very obvious) we got in and were assisted with luggage. Very clean and comfortable room and spacious, it has a terrace outside but not private as I'd assumed from the description. Room could have done with drawers and a full length mirror and also drinking glasses. Lovely bathroom and shower but could do with frosted glass on back of shower as people walking past outside the room would be able to see in through the bedroom windows through to the bathroom. The staff were very helpful in giving local advice and bringing glasses when requested. Lovely pool and jacquzzi but it needs privacy from passers by in the lounge/reception such as tall plants. It also has a slippery floor which was passed to the reception staff. The general staircase needs a rail as the stairs are see through so can make you feel disillusioned. My friend almost fell-passed onto staff. Lovely breakfast with a big selection served on the roof terrace overlooking the Acropolis. Restaurants, bars and shops nearby as well as national gardens and Acropolis within walking distances. Train station is a 5 minute walk- 9 euros to the airport, an hour appox away by 2 trains. The hotel had recently opened so some of the issues may have been resolved by now hopefully as they would have been overlooked in the planning/opening.…
