Staff was really good and the hotel was located in an excellent area. I wouldn’t say it’s a luxury hotel but it is adequate and the staff are very friendly, which goes a long way. Gym is decent and their breakfast was good. Overall a nice stay in a good hotel
We have just returned from an enjoyable 4 night stay at the NEW Hotel. We arrived in the early hours of the morning after a late flight but were greeted by a friendly receptionist who took the time to explain all the information we would need to settle into our room. The room was small but adequate for a short stay. It was designed to accommodate the limited space fairly well with a decent wardrobe and drawers, TV and toiletries daily with fresh towels if required. The one thing I would mention is bathroom has a toilet and shower unit inside with the wash-hand basin outside (which was the first thing you see as you enter the room). The bathroom door is designed to use for closing off the shower also, which leaves the bathroom with an open door whilst showering – just worth a mention. The shower was lovely, very hot and powerful. I had noticed that Tea & Coffee facilities were not standard and requested that this would be available and was advised it would be in the room on arrival. It wasn’t and I had to request it again the next day. I got a kettle and plenty fruit/herbal t-bags but no coffee and no milk for the English Breakfast tea. There were some USB slots and sockets but not all located where I’d say for us was handy, a bit unusal in the current day and age when everyone needs to charge equipment daily, but we managed. The only main facility we used was the Gym which you book and get a swipe key to access. It is a small gym but it is clean and has sufficient equipment in my opinion as it was hardly used while I was there. We spent our days exploring and the hotel is very central for all facilities like bars and restaurants, shops and attractions. Overall a good stay, I can recommend and would stay again but can only justify a 4 star report as there was nothing ‘special’.…
For starters, fantastic location. Minutes walking distance from Syntagma station for easy metro access to city and airport and super easy 5-10 min walk to the heart of the tourist attractions and South Acropolis entrance. But also on the edges of the heart of Plaka and within easy walking to downtown areas. For a small boutique hotel, the service was fantastic. Very well trained team here. From front desk staff, to doormen, to F&B staff and housekeeping. All friendly, professional and do have attention to detail. Rooms were a surprise, usually design hotels are form over function. Surprisingly this one has a lot of functionality built into the design and it actually works. The pillows here are also super great. Yes, window noise insulation not so great, but that did not bother me too much. Great rooftop bar with nice angled views of the Acropolis. Over all would recommend as a nice comfortable base in Athens.…
Nice hotel, interesting furniture, welcoming service. However, very poorly isolated windows. Impossible to sleep through the night (even on a weekend). Also, having some possibility in the room to have a tea or coffee (without ordering) would be nice.
We stayed one night at New Hotel prior to boarding our cruise ship. The hotel is wonderful. The staff is friendly and exceptionally helpful. The rooftop bar is awesome with incredible sunset views of the Acropolis. The restaurant is excellent. We had outstanding service from the bar staff who introduced us to Greek liqueurs and wines. It was a fantastic experience. Great location, close to Plaka and Acropolis. Would highly recommend and if we are back in Athens we would stay here again,
This is a small, stylish boutique hotel. Our room had a balcony, and overlooked the harbor. Very high ceiling, lots of artsy touches. The king sized bed was very comfy with great sheet; the windows had blackout shades, which was nice. The staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. When I asked for an extra hour on checkout, there was no problem. They have a really cool rooftop bar/restaurant. When one of the waiters saw me taking a photo of the Acropolis from the outdoor seating area, he took me aside and showed me a better view to photograph from. The breakfast was outstanding. I think I gained 5 pounds! We had lovely long conversations with one of the servers, who couldn't have been more personable. Also well located. Most of the restaurants I wanted to visit were within walking distance.…
We visited New Hotel in July prior to embarking on the new Celebrity Apex cruise. What I liked about the hotel was how close it was to the Acropolis. This was a summer when temperatures were over 100 degrees F and the only way we could take the walk up there was to leave at 8 in the morning while it was still cool -- and less crowded. I had been there in 2019 but wanted to go back and I really enjoyed the lovely walk there from the hotel. There is also a restaurant/bakery across the street that serves cappuccino and breakfast to take back to the room which was convenient. We had dessert on the top of the hotel one day at sunset for spectacular views too.
We picked this hotel for location and it was a Marriott...well such a great choice!! Very funky and unique decorations. Modern, clean and the most amazing breakfast buffet ever. The staff super friendly and accommodating. We could walk to all the shopping and sites. Highly recommend this hotel!
My husband and I stayed at New Hotel for the last leg of our honeymoon and we enjoyed our stay SO much. The hotel is beautiful, modern and in such a great location (in walking distance to everything we wanted to do). The service absolutely blew us away. Everyone was so kind, friendly and attentive. As soon as we arrived, we had lunch on the rooftop with a perfect view of The Acropolis. The food was outstanding and our waiter (I believe his name was Mihalis) was the BEST. Not only did he make us some incredible cocktails, he was so fun to talk to! He was so passionate about food and wine and even brought us out some of his red wine to try because we simply mentioned that we were red wine fans in passing. We saw him again the next morning for breakfast and he made us some strong, delicious cappuccinos and gave some great suggestions to try from the breakfast buffet. New Hotel is visually stunning, but it's the staff that make the hotel really special. We are beyond pleased with our experience at New Hotel and are already discussing our return trip!…
