The Diamond Plus is a sort of ane to the larger and smarter Hotel Marblous directly opposite. Our room was large as was the bathroom, but there was one factor that spoilt it. There was a huge wardrobe, but it was all hanging space, in the end we had to live out of our suitcase as there was just nowhere to put anything. A great plus however was the lighting, one of the best lit rooms we have ever stayed in. Breakfast is served in the room in a basket, one rings for it and it arrives within minutes. We found the selection to be great, bowls of yogurt, a "muesli" of roasted and crushed nuts, tasty rolls with meat and salad, fruit, pastries and bread with butter and jam or honey. Also fruit juice and a bottle of fresh milk. As the room had a fridge and a jar of ground coffee plus plunger we could have several cups during the day. The location is great, 5 minutes walk from many of the main sights and a hop on hop off bus stop.

I would like to congratulate their cleaning staff as everything was cleaned very well. But the hotel is old and rusty. Mold in bathroom silicone broken tiles, rusty faucet. Double bed was really small 130cm x 200cm Uneven flooring which caused me dizziness. And the worst ever was the breakfast basket which is served in the room.

The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and cleaned each day. The staff very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast baskets delivered to our room each morning was wholesome and tasty. A big plus for this hotel is its central location, close to Plaka and Ermou street. There are plentiful restaurants in the area. Overall it was a very pleasant stay at this hotel and we shall certainly return

We booked this last minute as our flights home were cancelled so we needed a place for an additional two nights. The location was so central and the rooms were so lovely. Large rooms with great amenities. Excellent service from tis hotel, I would highly recommend. Loved their breakfast basket delivered each morning included in the daily rate. Just perfect!

I originally booked this hotel due to the roof top terrace and shared breakfast area at its sister hotel across the street, I immediately emailed them after booking and asked how we access the roof top terrace and access The breakfast area. I was told immediately that it was no longer allowed since they renovated the sister hotel the “marblous house” so I asked to cancel my reservation immediately, literally within a few hours of booking and my request was denied. I regretted the booking going forward from day one, I emailed the Hotel a few more times asking for a balcony room and water kettle those emails were not answered I emailed them again a couple of weeks before arrival to request those two wishes again which they confirmed and finally responded to. Their is no lobby, no where to sit, have a coffee, or even eat something so you are basically in your room only. There are no comfortable chairs in the room too sit in they were hard plastic and they do not even provide cushions for them, The hotel is dated and worn but mostly clean. The best part of the 22 days that we stayed there was our Asian cleaning lady she was very sweet! I am a first generation American, my parents and siblings are all from/born in Athens and my husband is Greek so I know about Greek hospitality and cuisine. Breakfast was shameful and literally the exact same minus a few items here and there for the entire stay of 22 days. It consisted of 4 small hard and soft rolls, The two soft rolls included one slice of very thin lunch meat and one slice of very thin cheese both were cut in half and split between the two rolls, 2 small packets of honey and butter, 2 small jars of jam, some days 1 packet of salt and pepper, 2 small containers of yogurt most days 2 pieces of fruit (mostly apples but 3 times we got bananas and once we got oranges and 1 time we got a very very small pear) they literally gave us old oranges which we did not eat, I received a rotten banana and the tiny pear was rotten. The first free days we received 1 small packet of 2 pieces of Melba type toast which were all broken in pieces in the packet but after that we never received them again. Two hard boiled egg, some days they were cracked and looked dry where the shell pieces were off, Some days we only got one piece of fruit which was surprising as there was two of us. We were giving 2 individual serving size boxes of Kelloggs corn flakes or All Bran everyday with a small jar of milk some days it also included “1” small donut hole for two people to split between them. I can honestly say that in the one 6 decades I have never ate cereal in my life in Michigan where Kelloggs is produced let alone to travel to Athens Greece to eat it, now my payment was to include my breakfast but I cannot eat a hard boiled egg everyday for 22 days that’s disgusting and so was their so called 1/2 slice of lunch meat and cheese, so we incurred additional expenses my getting breakfast daily so we did not have to order or eat the literal garbage and sometimes rotten food. Also their website says they ask you what foods you like to have to put a palatable breakfast together for you they DID NOT do this or ask us they only ask if you are staying at the renovated sister hotel as I heard them do that when I was there because my key cards didn’t work (see the photo below) We go to Athens every 2 years to spend time and Easter with our friends and family there and have been there many times and have never encountered such a horrible hotel. The balconies have no chairs or tables on them so we literally had to take the chairs out and bring them in every time we wanted to sit out there. My cousin came to the hotel to see us end went to the sister hotel as this hotel is key card entry and has no lobby and asked them to ring us to let her in and let us know she was there, she is in her 70’s and you would assume she would be greeted with respected instead she was treated rudely and asked what she wanted and why she was there. The day before our check out our key cards were deactivated I went over to the reception at the so called sister hotel and said I paid cash for 22 days and you deactivated our cards a day early, I was infuriated, we had just arrived from our final dinner with friends for our last night and it was 7:30 pm I was in total disbelief, then the day of check out my husband went to check us out. Our nightly city tax due was 10.50 euros he tried to pay it with a 50 Euro (because the atms only spit out 50’s) they did not have change so he finally gave them 15 euro (a 10 and a 5 euro bill) and they could give home 4.50 euro change so we literally paid 15 euro and someone pocketed the 4.50 but it receipt only stated we paid the 10,50 euro so very dishonest and crooked, I wouldn’t let my dog stay at this hotel if I had one!!!!!! The only bright side to this hotel was our Asian cleaning lady was very sweet, The location and nearness to Syntagma and monastiraki but there are other hotels that offer real Greek hospitality and cuisine and a flippin place to sit and have a coffee right nearby, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!!

I was delighted to stay at this beautiful small hotel at the best location of the city center. Convenient and close to everything you need! Beautiful rooms with neoclassical decoration, clean, comfortable and spacious. I was upgraded to a larger room with two balconies and that was a great gesture by the hotel. I was also offered a bottle of sparkling wine. Breakfast is brought to your room in a baske. It was tasty and more than enough! Value for money by all means. I will definitely return!

Great location. Liked the room although could have done with a shelf in the bathroom . The staff were very helpful. Breakfast was brought to the room as hotel opposite was being refurbished. Value for money.

It has the best location in the city center, very near to all the shops like Zara, H&M, Massimo etc... and 2 mins walk to the monasteraki square. The drawbacks, 1. it does not have a lobby, just few chairs like a waiting room. 2. the breakfast is in the opposite building. Other than that all is fine.

The room is quite strange, but when you get used to the concept, it is quite sweet really. There are huge mirrors on three sides of the bed, a control panel for the bed (which I didn't dare approach), "diamond" studded curtains, and a massive glass and "gold" chandelier. There is no desk and the furniture is plastic and a bit shabby. I guess the spilt coffee stain on the stool just couldn't be removed, nor the rips in the plastic of the sofa repaired. Other than that, the room everything is spotlessly clean The bed was very comfortable, and beautifully made up every day which was great to come back too. The bathroom is just plain dangerous - extremely slippery floor, water goes everywhere, difficult to navigate the big glass door. The shower was fun though, with plenty of hot water from several points. The location is perfect - just a short walk to most of the interesting parts of Athens. The breakfast is excellent - lots of choice, reasonably good quality, and pleasant staff. I wish I could say the same for the reception staff. I had limited contact with them, but they were not particularly nice or helpful. They barely apologized when the car pick-up at the airport failed to turn up and I had to take a taxi; they didn't tell me that if I ordered a taxi via reception I would be charged an extra 3 euros, and they weren't particularly helpful when I asked if the metro was navigable with a suitcase. I don't think I would return.

We stayed here for a couple of days and found the hotel to be reasonable and staff very helpful. Its in a good location, close to Syntagma Square, Plaka, Monastiraki Square and the Metro (be very aware of the Metro in peak hours). Our room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast was included and we found it to be satisfactory.
