Location is very good and hotel view is the best of Athens. Not very new, but relatively clean and as well acceptable breakfast. Quick to get a taxi, nice to have swimming pool, but very noisy at swimming pool level (where the best Athens view is). Drinks served at the bar are average, still not quite cheap for Athens.

The hotel is in a perfect location, offers superior quality and class for travellers. The rooftop pool and restaurant/bar were amazing and added to the calming experience we so needed after a long trip from Australia.

I have been visiting Athens for years and I always stayed at the St George. George (head of Desk)is amazingly charming and efficient as the whole staff. The location and the view will leave you speechless. The pool has been nicely renewed. The hotel tops Kolonaki which is certainly the nicest and happiest area in the city. Now you do... More

Very good hotel, good location and only 20 minutes walk to Plaka. We Love this hotel and Will come back. We had a room with panoramic view, that was absolutely worth it. Poolarea is very nice. Good food at the restaurant and very helpfull Staf in both hotel and restaurant.

I booked this hotel as a treat but was very disappointed. The hotel room was small, had a damp smell, the wardrobe had no hangers for trousers....The pool area did not have enough beds, or enough staff to offer a five star service, and the vents were so noisy they didn't make for a very relaxing environment. The pool was... More

We spent the night at this hotel on our way to the port to pick up our cruise ship. The room for the night looked onto a brick wall very close to reception. The hotel was very clean, but the staff, espeically the Manager were less than welcoming. We tooka bottle of water from the room bar and charged 3... More

The St George Lycabettus Hotel has a wonderful view on Lycabettus Hill, on the Acropolis and all the center of Athens. It is relatively quiet. The view from the restaurant is amazing. The hotel staff is very nice and friendly. The only little weakness would be that the bedrooms would benefit from a refurbishment.

The pluses: from the top of the hotel, the scenery over the city with the Acropole is absolutly breathtaking. At night the enlightned Parthenon and all the lights of the city offer a touch of romantism to any dinner on the terrace. In the morning, you'll tend to linger at the breakfast to contemplate the old monument on its hill... More

Staying in Kolonaki / Lykavittos

Neighborhood Profile
Kolonaki / Lykavittos
By far the ritziest neighborhood in town, Kolonaki is home to most of the chic boutiques and designer label stores. Here, the wealthy say no to austerity by dressing in their finest and spending hours in the trendy cafés around Kolonaki Square, sipping the most expensive coffee in Europe. The area also contains a couple of notable museums and cultural institutions, which add to the air of nobility. The leafy upper reaches of Kolonaki transition into Lykavittos Hill, the highest point in central Athens. Climb the paths through its wooded slopes to the tiny chapel at the top, from where you are rewarded with stunning views across the Acropolis to the sea and even the mountains of the Peloponnese on a clear day. The wooden amphitheater up here hosts regular concerts during the summer.
