We had a great time in this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking and the service is top notch. Staff do their best to make you feel welcome. Rooms are a bit tired and could use some renovation though.

The location on Syntagma Square makes it easy to get to all of the key tourist locations - the Plaka, Acropolis and Hadrian's Arch are all within an easy walk as are many easy, delicious restaurants. The hotel is beautiful, well-maintained and clean, but it's the service and attitude of the staff that makes it special. We had a few glitches with the concierge (arranged a day trip but the wrong destination was communicated to the guide and driver) but it was easily cleared up. We had a room with butler service and they were outstanding - when we had trouble collecting our pre-arranged ferry tickets, they took our information and handled everything for us. The tickets were waiting for us in our room when we returned that afternoon. Highly recommend.

5 Star location and Hotel Staff. 3 Star room, perhaps 4 Star if you consider the age of the hotel. But then there is the shower. You stand there and water goes from comfortable to hot to cold, and back again. But then you’re trying to move around because of the water temperature and you feel VERY unsteady between the tub floor and the glass enclosure… no stars for showering. And we heard similar comments from other guests. The rest of the bathroom is similar to many hotels - looks nice until a couple tries to spread out all the paraphernalia that they need and then it’s a challenge to keep it from falling into the sink or the floor.

It's not often one is blown away by a hotel but the Grande Bretagne did this. Opulent lobby, fast, efficient and friendly check in and a wonderful room with a terrace and views of the Parliament building. After long, hit days sightseeing, returning to the hotel was an oasis of tranquility. The service was immaculate and friendly from every single member of staff. Housekeeping was excellent, service at breakfast and dinner outstanding and the butler team were responsive, dilligent and helpful. My only regret was we had to cut our stay short by one day due to a change in travel arrangements. While other hotels are still blaming covid for second rate facilities and service I am baffled as to how this property has maintained auch high standards. I doubt i could now stay anywhere else when on Athens. What a wonderful team and property, Bravo!

With the best views, the best food, Best Service, Best rooms and A wide Verity on the televisions. This is one of the best hotels in the world. The location is right outside of the Greek parliament and has a direct view while eating of the Parthenon. You absolutely cannot beat it. I recommend spending the extra money to stay here

The breakfasts rates 5 stars. Excellent buffet and of course the view across to the Acropolis is magnificent. Our rooms were very small, #447,445. No view except looking into other rooms. Very disappointing. We were in two connecting rooms, ours for some undetermined reason had a handicapped bathroom. The sink area was way too small but the real disaster is the shower. It has a minuscule curb so wheel chairs can ride over it. It you use the overhead shower option, the entire bathroom floods because both the drain and the curb are quickly overwhelmed by water flow. The floor is incredibly slippery-marble ensuring you could soon need a handicapped bathroom. The staff is lovely, I certainly can’t fault that. But getting them to understand the problem needs someone who can relate it in Greek .

My word, after spending time sightseeing, coming back to the hotel was like coming home to your own palace. I can’t wait to return. Dinner was epic and going down to the bar/lounge was like walking into a museum. The service and quality of the meals and beverages was over and beyond our expectations. So fun!

Beautiful, ornate hotel right in the heart of Athens. Perfect location, gorgeous facilities, Four Seasons level of service - which is incredible. The rooms are magnificent. The lobby bar is elegant. Rooftop pool is fantastic. Concierge is first rate. Easily the best hotel in Athens!

The food and especially the service are excellent, nothing else in Athens really compares. Rooms are somewhat on the small side, and even though the bathroom is fairly generous with a large bath tub, the shower is awkwardly small in proportion. While there is a rooftop pool, space is at a premium and fills up quickly. If given the choice between the King George next door and the GB, I prefer the King George.

I’ve stayed in this hotel various times 20 years ago, so planning our Greece trip- I knew this was the place I wanted to stay with my family. The hotel is beautiful, great location and the rooftop restaurant views are exceptional. My complaint is the pre arrival concierge. I emailed them a month in advance various times to make dinner reservations for the celebration of my child’s 16th birthday & sightseeing options. Never received a response, until hours prior to our arrival after my husband emailed them. Upon check in, we were offered room temperature champagne, the excuse was that we were the last check in. Our suite was small with a broken coffee table, that was taken away and never replaced. With that being said, our housekeeper was a charm, even though I don’t speak Greek and we could only communicate through smiles and gestures- she is a gem & truly an asset to the hotel. Upon request the concierge came through when I requested balloons & a cake in our room.
