I always cherish my staying at the GB, the Afternoon Tea is a true highlight. The food is
excellent, the atmosphere so elegant and yet charming. I adore its decor, and its proximity to the acropolis. The Roof Garden is another highlight
Almost every city in the world has a landmark hotel – a center of social and sometimes political life. Sitting opposite the Greek Parliament building and Constitution square smack in the middle of the city centre, it's fair to say that the Grande Bretagne is...More
GB is a wonderful, luxurious hotel with great views of the Acropolis. The rooftop bar has amazing views and we had both dinner and breakfast there. We ordered breakfast off of the menu rather than get the buffet and the service was extremely slow, but...More
My husband and I stayed at the Grand Bretagne for 3 nights in August. This hotel features Old World classic luxury in the center of Athens across from Parliament and near good shopping. Athens is a great walking city as one cool neighborhood blends into...More
I recommend to everyone this hotel. It is in a fantastic and very convenient area of Athens. Our room was clean and tidy. It had a nice view at the Syntagma square. The rooms are soundproof and we didn't hear the noise from the passing...More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Dear Guest, the Airport is approximately 45 minutes from the Hotel by car. May we also inform you that there are plenty of taxis waiting at the Airport with a cost of 38 Euro. Also, the Metro runs every 30min to Syntagma square where the hotel is located with a cost of 8 Euro. Alternatively, the public Bus X95 runs every 20 min to Syntagma with a cost of 5 Euro.
Plaka area is approximately 15 minutes walking distance from the Hotel. In general, the Hotel is easily accessible and on a very privileged location close to major sightseeing attractions.
