I was there the second time. Friendly service and nice rooms. Breakfast is also ok for me. The hotel is really near to the Acropolis museum and Acropolis hill. Only few minutes by feet. Also the Plaka area is not far from this hotel with much restaurants.

I stayed here with 3 friends for 3 nights prior to our Mediterranean cruise from Piraeus. This intimate hotel is close to site seeing. Rooms are small but immaculate! The highlight of the hotel is the rooftop terrace. We enjoyed any time of day there taking in views of the city. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This hotel is a small hotel. It has 5 levels. Main entrance on ground level, two floors above ground and two below. Ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor. The room is a nice with a small balcony. I happened to ask for a room with Acropolis view. Mind you this means , I go out to...

We picked this hotel as it was a nice walk to the Acropolis. The hotel itself it right at the top of a hill, but down the hill are great restaurants which we ate at every night and had a more local feel. The hotel is just a short 10 minute walk to the Acropolis with no hills to climb...

Located just near the Acropolis the hotel is in a very nice and safe area, 10 mins away from a metro station (you have to go up from the metro stations, including some stairs, so if you have big luggage better take a taxi – if no luggage then it’s nice and easy). The hotel is very clean, perfect services,...

We found this hotel to be ideal for visiting Athens. It is a short walk from the Metro station and that walk takes you past both the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum (be aware that it is on cobbles if you are pulling a suitcase) The location is ideal as a spring board for the sights and for gaining access...

The location of this hotel is perfect for seeing the Acropolis and the Placa. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room, however, was tiny and very poorly lit. Definitely need some light in the bathroom.

This Hotel is located close to all attractions of the Athens and true to its 3 Star rating. Cheerful and positive staff. It only serves only breakfast and it is really good. The view from terrace is excellent and rooms facing town should be preferred. Overall a great experience and damn good hotel.

Nicely designed, clean and well organized. Only downside is that the breakfast is not so good. There are some nice places nearby to have better breakfast. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It has a very nice roof terrace with a spectacular view.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
