Our hearts sank as we arrived at this hotel. The area is really shabby and run down, Athens has a lot of graffiti generally, some of which is quite cool but it looked scruffy and very tired in this area. The hotel is small and dark, and our room overlooked the main road which is very noisy at all hours... More

The hotel is ok in terms of cleanliness, helpful staff and average breakfast. However, rooms are small and hotel is located in omonia which is not recommended in terms of safety. You can find a better 4 stars hotel in a nicer area.

I booked a minimum of a 4 star hotel in South Africa. I specified aircon, wifi and a full English breakfast.. This is a renovated brothel that used to be booked out by the hour Hence the shocking location. The rooms were clean basic and airconditioned. If I were travelling by myself as a female I would have been too frightened to... This is an average hotel, clean and with good sized rooms. They have breakfast included (bread, jam, cereal and fruit). The service was pretty average and some of the receptionists were actually pretty rude. They have zero disposition to make you feel at home and pretty little knowledge about the city, it's attractions and the best ways to get around... More

The hotel was on a busy main road with no parking other than risking a dangerous unload on the curbside or finding a place nearby (v difficult). The staff were great. The room was tiny but well fitted out. It motto is the "High Tech Hotel". There were 3 local channels on the TV and good WiFi to support that... More

As much as it pains me to say it...This is not the place for a female traveling alone. It is at the Center of Athens' inner city, and every Uber/Taxi driver that picked me up told me the same things: "Don't leave your hotel at night alone, ok?" "Be very careful in this area, even in the daytime." If it... More

Stayed here for a three night break in April Location ok for accessing all the main tourist sites though lack of quality restaurants or bars in the immediate vicinity. Worst point was the relentless traffic noise from Pireos Street at all times of day and night which rendered any attempt to sleep totally and utterly pointless!!! Room was clean but... More

The hotels location is quite accessible. Metro station is just 10 mins walk. Overall a satisfactory hotel. Small rooms. Not much of facilities. ok ok breakfast. The major problem is during the nights. Its advisable to come back to the hotel early bcz the area is not quite safe.

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
