Worst hostel ever. Do not stay here. It’s dirty. It’s got no facilities. Nothing works. The kitchen has no equipment and you share the place with refugees who play loud music all day. There is no wifi. No ability to buy water and you can’t drink the water from the tap in Greece. The staff are kind but the place is falling down. Do not stay here.
I was travelling by bicycle in Crete after having landed in Athens. I wanted to keep the same bicycle box I travelled with as I did not have a lot of time to look for a new one on my return from Crete. I inquired at several places including the first establishment where I stayed if I could leave by box in their care for approximately 11 days and the Welcommon Hostel was the only establishment to offer me this favor without any fee. When I asked if they could store my bicycle during my stay on my return from Crete they happily offered to keep my bike in the store room behing the reception.
I stayed in Welcommon Hostel this summer and had a great time: great location close to the center and the monuments and a lot of nice places to eat and have a drink, I liked the atmosphere, the friendly staff, interacting with various volunteers taking part in social activities and the refugees from all over the world who came to learn or take part in activities. A great place with a noble mission which deserves all our support!
It is a such great place. The staff and the volunteers are super helpful and nice. The social aspect about the Hostel is amazing and I appreciate your work a lot. They organize a lot of very cool and fun activities for travelers, refugees, locals etc. - just for everyone who likes to join. It is a safe space where they make you feel welcomed and empowered! I love it!
It's amazing to find a place where you are collaborating in a social cause. The managers and the staff are very nice. Cozy rooms and well located. I have spent a few days there and I have felt like at home. I will come back for sure.
I love this hostel and especially the girl who wears the birds in her hair at reception. If your looking to meet some like minded humanitarians then you will find that here. The staff are friendly and helpful and a simple breakfast is provided to keep you going. The rooms are cleaned every day I was here. There is some opportunities to offer some activities/ entertainment or workshops here in the class rooms and common area they have on site where some local lessons take place in languages etc. I would come again. Thanks
Pick another hostel in athens...I stayed here with my cousins for one night in June 2019 and it was miserable. The staff was generally friendly and their English was good. However, our room’s (408) air conditioning did not work at all. We had to open the window to get any semblance of fresh air, which was an invitation for bugs and mosquitos all night long. It is also noisy! Cars and motorcycles zoom down the street into the late hours. The WiFi did not work in the lobby or in the rooms, and we did not receive any instructions of how to fix it. The beds are what you can expect from a hostel, but the towels had small hairs all over them along with stains from prior users. The kitchen was also a wreck and the stench of left over food permeated throughout the common spaces. This was my first hostel experience in Athens, and although this place is cheap, I can assure you that your money will be better spent elsewhere.…
Having visited this space in a previous incarnation and it's work with Refugees, the new Hostel gives a prime location for anyone sightseeing around Athens. It offers basic but very clean rooms with en suit as well as traditional hostel facilities of dormitories. The best bit is that your stay contributes to the work the organisation continues to do with refugee communities in Athens, especially children and young people. Volunteer, or visit but definitely go
Spent almost two months living in this pretty cool hostel this summer! It is located in a very cool place (near Exarchia), where you can find cheap and amazing bars and restaurants! Also super close to the metro station. Hostel it self looks beautiful, the rooms as well, everything was super clean the whole time we were there! There is a lovely kitchen downstairs that you can use, as well as the bar (amazing coffe!). The hostel hosts a lot of projects and activities which is super cool cause you get to meet a lot of random and interesting people. And the most important thing - the staff is super helpful and lovely! Totally a good choice to stay if you're in Athens!
I was staying for 7 days at Welcommon Hostel. It was nice experience! The staff was very polite and friendly and the room aw nice and clean. I was excited about social actions there. It's a place where Greek locals, migrants and refugees come together to share their experience and benefit from each other. It is really unique hostel.
