We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. The location: right across Athens' central market. A very lively area with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. The rooms are small but functional. Wifi and breakfast are included. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. My husband, who likes to walk, requested an extra towel on our first full...

The hotel is located near the central market and only 10 minutes walk from Monastiraki metro station. Rooms are renovated and you can have a nice view to Acropolis. Breakfast is tasty and rich (vegetable, eggs, sausages, fruit, youghurt...). On the top of the hotel is roof bar with amazing view. I would stay here again!

The location of this hotel is quite central to everything. We stayed for four days and walked everywhere. The Monastiraki Square is only about 5 minutes away and the Acropolis is about a 20-30 minute walk from here. We also walked to 7 different archaeological sites from here. To get to this hotel from airport, you can take the metro...

Dear Gary T, Thank you for recommending Athens Centre Square to the ones that wish to enjoy a more personal service, rich breakfast included in the rate and clean rooms. All that while being only 5 min walk from Plaka main square and few block away from the Acropolis. Hope to see you again

I booked this hotel for my parents and they happily reported that it was everything they wanted. My mother loved the location - there is a busy fruit market right outside the doors. The subway is closeby and many sightseeing attractions were within walking distance. My father loved the view from their room - they were on the top floor...

Staying in Omonia

Neighborhood Profile
Omonia
Omonia Square is as plain in appearance as Syntagma is grand. Surrounded largely by functional blocks from the 1950s and 60s and no longer boasting its underground stalls, the square is now mostly frequented by immigrants and bargain shoppers. The most rewarding area to explore is to the south. Set off down Athinas Street, with the Acropolis gradually coming into focus in the distance, and you will get a sense of old commercial Athens, especially at the picturesque meat, fish and vegetable markets some way beyond the City Hall. The blocks to the west of Athinas are home to many Chinese and South Asian traders, adding a multicultural atmosphere to what was until the late 1990s a very homogenous society.
