The long version:
Getting there: from the airport we took the metro to Monasteraki (9€) then the hotel is literally across the street.
Check-in: we got there early and the friendly front desk staff offered us water and kept our luggage while we went for a walk. When we came back the room was ready.
The room: this room was spacious and modern. The shower was clean and well equipped. It has a small tv but we didn't use it at all. The room was cleaned and the towels replaced every day. The hotel is located in a busy area but the room was quiet.
One thing worth mentioning is that there are graffitis everywhere in Athens and the hotel entrance is not an exception. So don't get discouraged by the hotel outside look.
The stay:
The hotel is just a minute walk from Monastraki metro station which gives access to two metro lines. You can pretty much go anywhere from there. The Monasteraki square itself is always busy day and night.
The restaurants are abundant nearby and the food is delicious.
We start our morning with a breakfast at the sister location 360 hotel: the breakfast is included and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality and the variety of the options. They start serving breakfast at 7am.
There are many archeology sites nearby including the Acropolis which is a 30 minutes walk from the hotel. I would recommend going there early (8am) to avoid lineups and the big crowd.
The staff were friendly and helpful every time we interacted wirh them.
Check-out: fast and smooth. Nothing special to mention.
The rooms (in my case the Deluxe with views of the square) were wonderful, spacious, with a large bed, mini kitchen, minibar, and a very large shower. Daily cleaning and replacement of water and amenities. A 10!
Rich and varied Greek-style breakfast in a room with views of the Acropolis.
The only thing to improve would be access to the breakfast room and increase the water pressure in the shower.
In my opinion a great hotel, in the best location.
Don't hesitate to book.🔝
it would be noisy but we couldn’t hear a thing. The breakfast was fabulous, local dishes traditional and with modern twist and also international, fresh orange juice and coffee as you wished for with unbeatable view of Acropolis. The staff was amazing, friendly and professional.
It is perfect to travel from the airport to the underground train station which is about 100m away from the hotel door.
Our room faced the square.
The only problem was the continously monotonous beating of drums by some amateur musos on the square into the early morning hours on both nights we stayed there.
It even drowns the atmoshere in the surrounding cafes / restaurants on the square, which they too complained about.
The rooftop restaurant at the hotel, although in a beautiful setting is way over priced, compared to local cafes and restaurants. It is a pity that they overcharge hotel guests.
The room is well equipped and tastefully decorated.
