We stayed for three nights at the TEC and really enjoyed it. Their facilities are clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Ivan and Juan Carlos were especially helpful throughout our stay. One afternoon we visited the zoo and Ivan kindly gave us a ride back. They also set us up with a night tour which I...

As a note to travelers arriving by bus, as we did, the Lodge is actually up the road a mile from the Zoo, so you will need to get a ride from Diana to stay at the Lodge (this may be obvious to others, but we somehow missed this detail while trip planning.) The zoo is amazing. We spent several...

We stayed in the Pond House, which you could describe as one-up-from glamping, and we loved it. The unique location and natural surroundings offer an experience that far outweighs the fact the accommodation is basic and bug spray a necessity. Being woken by exotic bird calls, the access to walking trails and presence of agouti, were heaven for this couple...

Nice clean, big house semi-divided into 2 big rooms for up to six people. Comfortable beds, beautiful screened in porch with chairs and a hammock overlooking the little marshy pond with turtles and an alligator. Kitchenette with dished, microwave, refrigerator, double hot plate and pans for cooking. Well maintained grounds just down the road from the zoo. The lodge gave...

I'm not really understanding how anyone can give this less than 5 stars. Bunch of babies who can't leave their air conditioned houses or cars to live life? This place was amazing!! We booked one night on our way to SI and wish we had booked a few! Cozy cabin with extra attention to details; screened porch with hammock, chairs,...

We thought it would be interesting to stay at the Tropical Education Center (TEC) and visit the Belize Zoo on a nocturnal tour....but little did we expect that this visit would turn out to be hands-down our favorite experience in Belize. We were warmly greeted by Diana Perez and the rest of the staff - we loved our forest cabanas...

We arrived late Evening but were very welcomed. Even our dinner was waiting for us. Quiet place, good service, capybaras walking around. We like our staying there. And of course, the Zoo is in a walking distance.

After seeing the place I was sorry I just booked for 1 night, I would have stayed longer if didn't have other stuff booked. The place is fantastic, not just the cabanas but the dormitory as well are well kept. Staff was very helpful and friendly, had the time to share a story and show me around the different trails....

We stayed at the TEC on our way in and out of Belize and we were very happy with everything. We had a stressful arrival as we missed a plane and so we arrived much later than expected but Diana and Juan Carlos were amazing and organized another drive to the airport to pick us up later and then had...

We stayed for one night at the TEC in a forest cabana and had a lovely experience. The room is just large enough for a double and a twin bed, and has a porch with chairs to lounge in. We loved that only screens and curtains separated us from the outdoors. The bathrooms are very clean and there is hot...
