The Old Fort is a substantial historic estate which has been completely rebuilt in the classic French-Mediterranean style. It is set high on the top of Mount Pleasant and offers sweeping views overlooking the Grenadine Islands that stretch far Southward into the distance. The estate grounds fall down to a cliff above the ocean with its golden meadows billowing with hay and tropical breezes that flow from every corner. The kitchen draws on fresh local produce and is famous for its fantastic cuisine with the dining experience a wholly Shangri-La affair that turns into a magical setting at night. Surrounded by numerous acres of lush and stunning gardens it is covered by various species of palms and fruit trees, framed by bougainvillea and a profusion of tropical exotica. This one-of-a-kind estate is ideal for families and friends seeking a relaxed laid-back atmosphere, whilst at the same time is still conveniently located only a short distance from the best beaches and activities.

The best historic estate I’ve ever been privileged enough to stay at! It absolutely transforms you, unbelievable to be enjoying food and drink and a cooling dip in the infinity pool in a property with such history. Stunning grounds, a gorgeous building, and it only gets more breathtaking when you walk in. High quality beds and linens, hand laid stone tub, showers and high quality custom made mosquito netting, built in cabinetry and seating areas. A real gem! Also* I work from home, best internet I have experienced in this country!!*

If you want to try something a little diffrerent from the regular airconditioned hotel rooms this the sun room is for you.No air condition, windows that do not close surround the entire room. The estate is very peaceful and is very near a cliff so you can go exploring.we were the only guests while we stayed and we definitely had a great time. The staff was warm and friendly and catered to all our needs in a very professional manner.Travellers should also rent a moke while on the island.Very island vybe vehicle.

We took our 3 older children on a much needed vacation. We wanted something off the "beaten' track". My husband actually saw the images from the Old Fort and sold us on it's beauty. He sailed there many years ago and was struck by how unchanged it was! The home did not disappoint-it actually exceeded our expectations. The Old Fort is breathtaking-it's out of the pages of Architectural Digest! We had a delicious breakfast service every morning and ate at home or locally for dinner. I suggest you rent a jeep to explore the cool little town and eat by the harbor. Seeing Tobago Cay is a must for the day! We also took a day trip to Mustique which was fun, but we were happier to be on Bequia. Quirin, the owner is a gem! Super helpful and accommodating. One of our best vacations ever!

The island of Bequia is a very unique and beautiful island. The people here are so relaxed and lovely. We had the most wonderful stay at The Old Fort. We rented the luxury suites which have been built to the highest standards and are set in the family estate in a perfect location consisting of breathtaking views and stunning grounds that we took great pleasure exploring. The staff are all so warm, friendly and helpful. Patrick, our own private chef was absolutely amazing, his food that he specially prepared for us was all incredible. Our host Quirin and his family saw to it that we had the most comfortable stay and were very helpful arranging, transport, tours and boat trips. This is a 5 star experience with a stylish, exclusive feel and is great value in every way. This is the ideal place to come whether it's with your whole family or a large party, they even do weddings here and we can see why. Their hospitality is second to none. Or if you just want a romantic luxury holiday with a true Caribbean experience this is the place to be. The Old Fort far exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank Quirin and his family and all the lovely people who we met that work at The Old Fort. You made our stay so special, we look forward to coming back to Bequia again as soon as possible!

My cousin and I spent 3 nights at the hotel during the Easter Regatta. The estate was adorable, quaint and perfect for relaxing poolside. The staff was amazing! Everyone we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. A very special thanks to Erica who attended to our every need. The views around the hotel are indescribably beautiful. We stayed in the "Planters Room" which has a feeling of old charm about it which suited us just fine. The room was very spacious and had a little kitchenette. The bed had mosquito netting which helped to keep most of the bugs out as we hardly got bit. I should also mention that Bequia is completely reliant on rain water which is safe to drink. Continental breakfast was included which was delicious and very filling! We ate at the restaurant each morning and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds fly around the grounds. Overall I would highly recommend the Old Fort for a relaxing holiday.
