The Old Fort is a special historic estate which can be rented for a one-of-a-kind vacation and is ideal for a family or group of friends. Constructed with cobblestones and wood beams in the classic French-Mediterranean mansion-house style it is set high up on Mount Pleasant and offers breathtaking views overlooking the Grenadine Islands that stretch far Southward into the distance. The estate grounds stretch down to the Atlantic Ocean beneath with its golden meadows billowing with hay and tropical breezes that flow from every corner. The excellent kitchen is famous for its fantastic cuisine with the dining area that turns into a magical setting at night. Lush grounds are covered by numerous species of palms and fruit trees that surround one of the most spectacular pools you will ever see, framed by a profusion of tropical exotica. Recommended over the years in numerous international publications it has been transformed into the kind of property you will never want to leave. This exclusive estate is conveniently located only a short distance from the best beaches and attractions of the island and is ideal for guests seeking a relaxed laid-back atmosphere. Together with its long standing team of employees, it forms the centre of an incredible experience that allows one a vacation of a lifetime!

My family and I stayed at The Old Fort Estate for a holiday lasting two weeks. We enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze, breathtaking views of sky and water, lush green surroundings, and welcoming hospitality. The historic stone architecture, arched doorways, and colorful textiles created a truly unique charm. The estate had all of the comforts and amenities that we were looking for. We felt completely relaxed, as the estate was quiet and secluded, yet close to the beaches, culture and nightlife of Bequia. We recommend this is as a wonderful place for an extended stay.

We spent nearly 4 weeks at the Sugar House which is part of the Old Forte Estate. We loved our escape. We were 2 couples and the house had two large bedroom suites with canopy beds and a spacious living area with a kitchen. It is very comfortable with a lot of character (not a cookie cutter hotel or villa). It is rustic and open to the Caribbean air with beautiful views and grounds and a refreshing pool overlooking the ocean. The hosts were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The house was cleaned and our laundry was taken care of 2x per week. There is nothing too formal in Bequia so a couple pairs of shorts, t-shirts and a bathing suit are all you need. There are fruit trees and friendly animals around the property. It was a wonderful area to walk and explore with views in every direction. Town is a short drive away and has everything you need to make your own meals. We cooked dinner in the kitchen very night and often ventured out to lunch and the beaches every day. All the while consuming the local food and beer "Hairoun" and sampling rum punches. We hated to leave and plan to stay longer next time.

The Old Fort Estate transports you into a tropical and traditional Caribbean landscape and space. Ocean breezes blowing through the open windows cool you as you sleep on your large king bed. You wake to the views of palm trees swaying across a landscape of the open ocean. Although my family had visited several times on day trips, the experience was improved upon by actually staying a few days. The stone walls and artistic decoration really made me feel like I was royalty. My personal favorite is the pebble shower! I highly recommend putting this on your list of places in Bequia to stay!

I decided to treat myself and my close and extended family and hence I spent quite a bit of time looking for a very special place to take them over two months this gone Summer during the Covid epidemic. I wanted something totally unique and different but something that still did not shy away from the usual comfort and service my family was accustomed to. We spent the most amazing holiday at The Old Fort with my grown children and their mother (my ex-wife) and my young 5 year old daughter and her mother, including many friends who all came and stayed with us during various periods over the time I had booked the property. The property is truly very special, it is hard to describe with words, and we had the most amazing experience. The extension called the Sugar House is ever so amazing and whilst I did not book it before arriving, I was able to add it when I arrived, as it was luckily available. We enjoyed the serenity of the estate and vast plantation gardens with its most incredible views overlooking 180 degrees over the ocean, including the meticulously renovated bedrooms and living areas, and the amazing staff all who did their utmost for us to enjoy our stay. To be honest, at first I wanted us to do our own thing whilst staying there, however after arriving I then later decided it would be good to have a daily chef and cleaning service, which the owner arranged for us immediately with no issue. The kitchen was able to prepare any type of foods we wanted and the rooms were also well cleaned on a daily basis. The grand pool with its outside bar is also a great spot to be and we spend days lounging there with the entire group. Whilst the estate is situated in a very private and safe area, at the same time it is very close to the two best beaches and places of activity on the island. I even had my very own vehicle which the owner had arranged for me! Friends who joined and had stayed at first in Mustique absolutely loved it. We went on various amazing day trips to other islands, including the breathtaking Tobago Keys, and the lush main island of St. Vincent, where we visited the film set of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie and also bathed in the lush rainforest within waterfalls. I could go on and on, as it was so incredible, however you have to be there to experience it! 20 out of 10, its one of a kind!

If you want to try something a little diffrerent from the regular airconditioned hotel rooms this the sun room is for you.No air condition, windows that do not close surround the entire room. The estate is very peaceful and is very near a cliff so you can go exploring.we were the only guests while we stayed and we definitely had a great time. The staff was warm and friendly and catered to all our needs in a very professional manner.Travellers should also rent a moke while on the island.Very island vybe vehicle.

We took our 3 older children on a much needed vacation. We wanted something off the "beaten' track". My husband actually saw the images from the Old Fort and sold us on it's beauty. He sailed there many years ago and was struck by how unchanged it was! The home did not disappoint-it actually exceeded our expectations. The Old Fort is breathtaking-it's out of the pages of Architectural Digest! We had a delicious breakfast service every morning and ate at home or locally for dinner. I suggest you rent a jeep to explore the cool little town and eat by the harbor. Seeing Tobago Cay is a must for the day! We also took a day trip to Mustique which was fun, but we were happier to be on Bequia. Quirin, the owner is a gem! Super helpful and accommodating. One of our best vacations ever!

The island of Bequia is a very unique and beautiful island. The people here are so relaxed and lovely. We had the most wonderful stay at The Old Fort. We rented the luxury suites which have been built to the highest standards and are set in the family estate in a perfect location consisting of breathtaking views and stunning grounds that we took great pleasure exploring. The staff are all so warm, friendly and helpful. Patrick, our own private chef was absolutely amazing, his food that he specially prepared for us was all incredible. Our host Quirin and his family saw to it that we had the most comfortable stay and were very helpful arranging, transport, tours and boat trips. This is a 5 star experience with a stylish, exclusive feel and is great value in every way. This is the ideal place to come whether it's with your whole family or a large party, they even do weddings here and we can see why. Their hospitality is second to none. Or if you just want a romantic luxury holiday with a true Caribbean experience this is the place to be. The Old Fort far exceeded our expectations and we would like to thank Quirin and his family and all the lovely people who we met that work at The Old Fort. You made our stay so special, we look forward to coming back to Bequia again as soon as possible!

My cousin and I spent 3 nights at the hotel during the Easter Regatta. The estate was adorable, quaint and perfect for relaxing poolside. The staff was amazing! Everyone we encountered went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. A very special thanks to Erica who attended to our every need. The views around the hotel are indescribably beautiful. We stayed in the "Planters Room" which has a feeling of old charm about it which suited us just fine. The room was very spacious and had a little kitchenette. The bed had mosquito netting which helped to keep most of the bugs out as we hardly got bit. I should also mention that Bequia is completely reliant on rain water which is safe to drink. Continental breakfast was included which was delicious and very filling! We ate at the restaurant each morning and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds fly around the grounds. Overall I would highly recommend the Old Fort for a relaxing holiday.

Lucky to have stayed at the landmark/estate hotels around the world, I have developed a very strong opinion about hospitality and understanding of the comfort level while away from home. In my view, it should be a similar feeling. The happy sejour must be pleasant, warm, unpretentious, but clearly of a very high standard. It is attention to detail, welcoming service, garden/farm-to-table restaurant, most beautiful, untouched landscapes, picturesque views, peace and quiet. The Old Fort certainly has it all. Impressive. True image of an intimate estate hotel for an aesthetic experience. Thank you.
