Detailed Reviews
If you are looking at somewhere truly relaxing and appreciate attention to detail then this is going to be the place on stunning Bequia ! The staff here are so friendly and eager to ensure you have a great stay. We preferred to be out of the hustle & bustle of the busy port - whilst still within easy access of it. If you are paradise seekers, rather than mere holiday makers, then look no further ! The minute you arrive it feels like an oasis of calm. I practice yoga and this place is perfect ! The rooms are very spacious with equally spacious verandahs - just the place for a cocktail (or two) at sundown ! The standard of food was excellent and housekeeping of a high standard. Whilst the nearest beach is a short ride away, the few times we ventured there we found it could be quite crowded at times, so we much preferred the tranquility of whiling the hours away, beside the beautiful pool on this stunning plantation. If you are thinking about Bequia - don't expect Barbados ....its a much more beautiful and low key Caribbean island than its noisy neighbour and surprisingly straight forward (or so we found) to get to . Its also an excellent base from which to explore the other islands of Grenadines.
Firefly offers the perfect place to really soak up the true Caribbean vibe of this chain of beautiful islands. As soon as we can get back to Bequia, we will be back to Firefly !

From the moment you walk into the lovely open designed hotel you know you are in paradise. You are warmly greeted by Collin and Donavan who offer you a welcome drink as you sit back, relax and comfortably gaze out over the pool to the beautiful plantation. They handle your luggage as you are shown to your beautiful spacious room. There are stairs to climb but we did not find this a problem. The rooms are very large with a huge furnished veranda. The view is amazing of the plantation, hundreds of coconut palms lining the blue waters of Spring Bay and a warm tropical breeze. We stayed in an upper level suite with high vaulted ceilings, a very lush king size bed with mosquito netting, walk in closet with mini bar, huge two person shower opening to the veranda, two pedestal sinks and comfortable lounge chairs. The menu at the restaurant was not large but the food and service was excellent. We prefer this part of the island, about a mile or less from Port Elizabeth. It is more secluded and the way the island has been for years. We explored and enjoyed the entire island including other hotels and found Firefly to be our perfect home base. The entire staff was exceptional and make you feel right at home. We will definitely be back for another stay.

We stayed at the Firefly while friends stayed on their boat in the harbor and other friends stayed at the Bequia Beach Hotel. The Firefly is beautiful, has great rooms, wonderful staff and good food. It is also a $20 taxi ride (each way) into town/harbor. So, if you are looking to stay at the resort for a romantic getaway, it's great. If you want to go to other restaurants and bars, it's a bit of a trek.

Thank you for your review and we are glad you enjoyed your stay at Firefly, we certainly enjoyed having you. Thank you for staying with us :) Taxi's in Bequia are reliable, fun and not expensive, the taxi ride from us to the main town is ec$20, about £5, so actually not too bad! We are a few minutes out of town but we love it as it means it's peaceful and tranquil here but still easy to go into the harbor when you want to shop or party at the many great bars and restaurants we have in Bequia.

We first stayed at The Firefly 5 years ago on our first visit to Bequia. We had a wonderful experience then, so each year we return to Bequia, whilst we no longer stay there, we make it a must to visit for either lunch or dinner.
It still retains its peaceful ambience and there is no better place to sip your rum punch than on their beautiful terrace overlooking the plantation gardens.
This year we played 9 holes on their quirky cross country course, which was great fun and gives you a chance to enjoy their lovely garden.
Lunch, as always was very well done with lots of imaginative options.
I believe they offer a day ticket for US$ 45 which includes a tour of the plantation, use of the golf course and swimming pool and a 2-course lunch. It’s in the diary for next year already.

Firefly Bequia is the most relaxing haven in an otherwise crazy world. Based in the centre of a working plantation, overlooking Spring Beach and its rustic and natural shore. One of the most unspoiled and natural areas of the Caribbean. The simple but delicious meals prepared by the talented and patient Lesley Anne are amongst the best on the island. Try the chicken curry or the poke bowl for a healthy and light option. Firefly must rank as one the most tranquil places in the Grenadines, perfect for those who value their privacy and independence. I will be back!

We stayed at The Firefly for a week and it was a truly relaxing end to our holiday. Leslie Ann and Melissa worked so hard and we were very well looked after. The rooms are beautiful and extremely well kitted out, with stunning views from the large balcony.
The restaurant and bar was a lovely area to chat with your fellow guests and the food was delicious and beautifully presented.
You can walk to the main town (about 25 minutes) but taxis are readily available and we tended to walk there and taxi back.
We had a fabulous time and will return!

We have been visiting Bequia for years and always earmark a day to visit Firefly. This time we stopped by for lunch after visiting the Grenadine Salt Co next door (which was excellent). Charlotte was the most attentive and congenial bar tender and we enjoyed a selection of drinks, including their home produced Golden Apple juice. Our food was served in a timely manner; the tuna salad was particularly delicious, as was the vegetable roti. We then relaxed in comfy chairs on the quiet and peaceful terrace, the perfect place to read or enjoy quiet conversation. As has been our long-held tradition, the owner allowed us to swim in the fresh water pool after lunch. A beautiful and tranquil spot. Highly recommend!

A beautiful resort with great views. The rooms were large with several doors to a wonderful deck. The grounds and plantation were well kept. The restaurant had good food but a somewhat limited menu. The staff was very friendly, Colin, Melissa and Donovan showed us daily that they cared about our experience there. All and all everyone we met on the island were friendly, we would definitely return.

It is with exceptional gratitude for Liz, the owner of Firefly in Bequia that I write this. Liz’s kindness, compassion and connections were instrumental in helping me rescue a stray Bequia dog and return with her to the US. Covid-19 has brought on challenges at every level and especially for businesses depending on tourism. It is however this approach to community from businesses that has kept me returning to Bequia for many years. Thank you Liz. I will be sure to seek you out when I return.

If you are tired of the beach and have been overwhelmed by the museums a tour of the Firefly Estate provides an alternative. A stroll around the grounds led by a knowledgeable guide gives a unique insight into the flora and fauna of the island. You can follow up the morning tour with a tasty lunch to round off a delightful excursion.

Hello DT. Firefly has a beach right below it that is good for a walk but not a swim. However, it is a lovely and safe 15 minute walk from the hotel to Industry Bay which is both beautiful and lovely for swimming. That walk follows the sea and is utterly wonderful. As others have noted, Princess Margaret and Lower Bay are the best beaches and require either a taxi or a car rental... both are beautiful and neither has a decent hotel within walking distance. Friendship Bay is another really nice beach but is landlocked by Bequia's only mass tourism hotel, a horror. Please remember that Firefly will pack you a lovely picnic for the beach... tablecloths, silverware and all... great fun.
We rented a jeep through handy Andy, and I def recommend renting a jeep. The hotel book cited in room spa treatments. We didn't have one though so can't give any more info.
