Pour check-in. Got a wrong roomnumber - the woman staying in the room was terrified, Imagined that she would be raped. At the check-in again no apology just a stupied laugh. At the right room the temperature was 26 degrees - not possible to sleep there. Bathroom so small - sitting at the toilet, you were leaning at the wall. I belive that the bathroom was a wardrobe before. The breakfast was good and varied. The room was clean and cleaned both days I was there. I will never stay there again and the price was 150 € pr night which had to be payed in advance. It is possible to find better hotels to that price.
Really interesting building with a lot of history. The lobby renovation is a bit kitschy. Hotel itself is perfectly located for the business district and Roger metro. Breakfast is basic, but quite acceptable. No evening meals. There's a vending machine for hot and cold drinks, but it only accepts coins. Staff are helpful. Bed really comfortable. There is heating in the room, coffee maker and a TV. WiFi works well. Bathroom is clean, but watch out for the folding shower screen. Like others, I managed to flood the floor on one occasion. Oh, and the walls are pretty thin. Either that or my neighbours were really loud. It was as if they were right outside my door! If you open the window, be careful. There's a railing, but it's very low. Overall, the hotel satisfied my requirements. If I have another trip I'd definitely consider it again…
Helpful staff but need to learn more about courtesy. Very old hotel, classic interior design with signature Brussels landmark. Room very small but without heater or air conditioning system. Management should upgrade immediately. Anyway location not too far from main station and walking distance to Brussels landmark
In spite of the negative older reviews i booked the hotel and took a chance, but i was happy with my stay (me and my sons) in a twin room on the 4th floor. The room was renovated with black tiles in a shower room, beds were comfortable, coffee good, shower is fine, clean, rooms quiet. No conditioner but we didnt need it, it was around +26C outside. The hotel is situated few steps away from shopping moll an shopping street, metro, starbacks, KFC and other food court in ground floow of the city-2 mall, and carrefour in the same area. All in all good experience, i can recommend this place.
The room was clean and the location was excellent. They allowed us to store our luggage both before and after we check in/out. We booked a triple however, the third bed was just a couch. When we took a shower, the water went everywhere all over the floor. It was worth it in the price because of the location. Just 10 min walk from the grand place. Centrally located between two train stations. Perfect for 1 night.
The only thing good about the hotel is location. Room was very old, bath was not working properly. when we take a shower, bathroom was full of water. There is not Kettle in room, you should have it with deposit.
I stayed 3 nights in May 2022 .The room I stayed in was number 105, it was elegant and spacious, and decorated in an Art Deco style with a geometric pattern carpet and elegant simple lean lines, the bathroom was also in this style but using brand new fittings to give it a fresh clean feel, it's good and has had a very good refurb ,the room had a very functional coffee/tea maker which worked well, and very good open wardrobe space , with a good flatscreen tv. The dining room was elegant , well maintained nicely spaced out, with a very good selection of breakfast things for the price, [perhaps some bananas might be good] , otherwise it was great, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly on the desk with my requests and the overall mood of the hotel was peaceful and relaxing, having a joint entrance made the hotel feel spacious and connected and modern not so great were very slight, the shower fitting tray over the bath is in the wrong place,so hard to use once the screen is unfolded [almost no gap between the bath edge] also the hard clear plastic chair in the bedroom. the life entrance should be sign posted on the double doors so it can clearly be seen, when the doors are closed. The lighting in the corridors could be brighter, the Spanish Hacienda design in the historic entrance hall should be restored to its original elegance,as it's gaudy like the set of a strange play.as it could look stunning, with some expert input and be a welcoming usable space …
Hi. We have booked comfort room in this hotel and at the check in found out that there is a hot water issue in the room so we have been offered another room in Sirius hotel (same building with 3 hotels owned by 1 company), room was small dated and dirty, cleaned but stains everywhere. We have rejected it and been offered Progress Hotel ( 4* - not sure how come it is 4 *). Room was bigger and better, with some stains on the carpet, dated a bit so we have accepted it. Overall disappointing experience. Staff did very well to arrange it quickly and offered free drinks at the bar (bar is basic, behind reception, expensive and nobody in it). Breakfast was nice with good choice so that is the positive thing. PS. Mattress in our room (Progress hotel) was very bouncy so one person moves another move too, bounce too ;) I didn't get a chance to see how the comfort room looks like in the Des Colonies hotel so can't compare. Corridors and building inside is dated. First 3 pics - 4* progress hotel, other 2 sirius.…
This hotel has beautiful rooms for a really great price. It is centrally located and close to the train station. The hotel is very old but was recently renovated. There was fast check in service and very friendly staff.
Central location, clean. the shower was powerful and staff where friendly, that’s it very disappointed, old and rundown room not at all like the photos on Booking.com the paint work needs urgent attention after a day’s work all you want to do is relax not able to at this hotel
