The hotel and the host are both welcoming. The garden is beautiful and lets you get lost, a perfect way to unwind. A beautiful stress buster. I'd definitely recommend this place and would visit again.

we only stayed one night but wished we had more time to have stayed longer. The gardens, the owners, the views just wonderful. We would recommend to anyone that is either traveling to Vianda do Castelo or want a base to travel to other areas in Northern Portugal or Spain- very easy to use the train to travel in Portugal.

We first visited here many years ago and have come back regularly since. It is an old manor house with a long history, the cottages of which have been modernised into self-contained units, mostly two-bedroomed. Breakfast is included and is taken in a communal dining room or on the terrace in fine weather. The house sits in extensive grounds comprising...

We stayed here for 10 days, and almost missed our departure day - that's how relaxed we were. Jose and team are very helpful, the place is beautiful, charming in a bohemian, soulful, and rather eccentric way. The house and gardens are full of unexpected pleasures. Our big kids LOVED the rock pools ....

Very nice place, with a very nice garden and a lovely swimming pool. The bedrooms are also very nice. The owner is very friendly and helpful, and so is the staff. Breakfast is served in a very nice dining room or, if it is warm and sunny, outside facing a very nice view. Free parking.

We chanced upon this amazing country house while booking accommodation on the Camino route. Steeped in history with a tour of the property from passionate owner Jose showing us the history of the area and extensive gardens with restored aquaducts and interesting sculptures and stunning views at every turn. We stayed in the restored out houses/ cottages with private patron....

Of our month-long trip in Spain and Portugal, this gem of a find was the place we stayed with the most charm and character. The property and buildings are stunning, as is the staff. The proprietor offered us a cold beer when we arrived (after a long, hot day on the bike!) and his wife made us a fantastic home-cooked,...

Stayed a couple of days at the Quinta. Nice tiny small apartment with aged bathroom and creaky bed.The Quinta is located well outside the town and also a few km from the beach, so you will need a car. The Quinta itself is a nice 500 year old property that probably could use some cash injection to keep it up...

We recently stayed in this lovely Quinta and can only praise the accommodation and hospitality provided. It is a magical and romantic place and we were sorry we had to leave. Jose, showed us around the property gardens and his knowledge of the place made it even more interesting. We highly recommend it to anyone traveling to this region of...
