Detailed Reviews
It is amazing how much can be fitted into a small space and still work efficiently. The studio apartment was well-equipped including a washing machine. There is a small balcony and the complex is secure with underground parking if needed and also an elevator. It is close to many eateries and a 10 minute walk down to the river, and uphill on the way back. If you want to be self-catering this is a good choice and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Loved the location - close to all the sights and great restaurants and bars. The room is bright and cheerful and spotlessly clean. The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly and ensure our stay was enjoyable. Loved the unexpected welcome treat.

Spent four nights here recently, we were firstly thrilled to have been upgraded from a studio to a one bedroomed apartement. We arrived late and tired but perked up with thoughtful port and cakes left out for us! And a chilled small bottle of Rosé in the fridge. The apartment was spacious and spotless! The bed was very comfortable with crisp white sheets and plenty of fluffy white towels in the snow white bathroom. A great coffee machine too! The location was ideal, a short walk to everywhere in the city yet very peaceful.

Unusual to find a stay where everything is done right, from location to the stainless steel corkscrew. We will recommend this to all our friends - it is awesome. OK, they have easy underground parking, which we don't need this time. Every aspect of the design and furbishment is perfect - hard to believe. Marriott or Disney could take lessons. The kitchen has fridge, stove, and microwave, and a unique and tasteful divider to do the visual separation from the living room. There's a scrubpad under the sink for the dishes. There's lots of cupboard and closet space. The door to the apartment is bank security quality, it would seem, tripled bolted. And the location is superb - close to the funicular from the Cais do Reibera, close to the Se, 10 minute walk to Pingo Doce for groceries and wine. There is more, but I've run out.

Booked the hotel through booking.com. Communication was easy and we could leave our bags at the hotel (until check-in) from around 9AM as we were arriving early.
The room was ready before check-in and located on the ground floor. The rooms had a small terrace and a welcome drink (red port wine) and some cookies.
The bathroom was out of soap but this was addressed quickly by the reception staff.
Room is clean, decent size and good price.
Location is on top of the hill, a nice walk down via the stairs to the river or you can cross over the huge bridge;
- good location
- clean and spacious room with kitchenette
- friendly service

The accommodation couldn't have been nicer! The rooms were cozy, modern, and very centrally located. The owner of the property Teresa, and the hosts Patricia and Patricia were extremely attentive and friendly. They went above and beyond by purchasing a cake for my girlfriend's birthday per my last minute request and even offered a complimentary bottle of champagne! I fell in love with the city of Porto, in no small part due to the warmth and kindness of the people and the staff at Casas do Teatro were no exception! This hotel deserves the highest of recommendations and I would gladly stay here time and again. Thank you for the outstanding service and for making our vacation so special!

I’ve stayed in hotels, airBnbs, etc. all over the world. I can truly say this is one of the best places I’ve stayed.
First is the location. It’s in the heart of Porto and close to everything. Anyplace I wanted to go, I could walk there. But there is a metro station just a few minutes away (Sao Bento) if needed.
As for the place itself, it consists of studio and bedroom apartments. They all face a nice courtyard in the middle. Mine was a one bedroom apartment. The sofa in the living room could be pulled out to make another bed (queen bed), but not needed by me. The living room/ kitchen area has modern furnishings. Range, microwave, refrigerator, washer, tv..
it also has a nice outdoor area if you want to sit or eat out there by the courtyard. Very quiet most of the time.
I was provided a bottle of wine, a small carafe of port, some biscuits, small juice box, and a bottle of water.
Bathroom was well furnished with lots of large towels. Shower worked great with plenty of hot water. Bedroom was in the back and had it’s own ac unit. Bed was comfy.
It was a great room!
As for the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. They are very willing to provide suggestions on just about anything in Porto: restaurants , attractions, tours. What I appreciated was they pointed out places that the Portuguese go, not just tourist spots.
I stayed 4 days and wish I could have stayed longer.
This is a great place to stay and when I next visit Porto, this is where I’m staying

I admit I do have a tendency to overthink where I stay, I spend days trawling TripAdvisor before I finally make a decision.
Well my hours have paid off because you can now just book this place and save time!
Perfect t apartment at the top of the town walking distance to everything including the Main Street of shops.
There is parking underneath and a lift to the apartments which are all built around a central courtyard meaning you can sit on your balcony and see the sky while sipping your port or rose (yes there was a drink waiting for us and delicious biscuits!)
The one bedroom family apartment is a great size, the bedroom is large and the bed is comfy. The blockout curtains mean no light gets in.
The bathroom is also a decent size with loads of towels and a bath.
The kitchen comes with a big coffee machine and also a washing machine which is a blessing after a few days of travelling.
The sofa bed pulls out easily and has become our daughters little haven.
I think it was Paula who checked us in, she was so happy and helpful that it really set the tone for our stay.
Perfect location and quiet yet oh so close to everything, we haven’t had to use the car, tram or taxi once!

+1
I stayed in a delightful studio apartment on the second floor (there is a lift) located in the heart of the old city. This is a fantastic location with walking distance of Sao Bento station, the funicular to the riverfront areas and to restaurants and shopping. Made most welcome by Patricia with information provided on the apartment facilities and local attractions. A welcome tray of Mateus Rose, port, water and a Portuguese made this rather special. The apartment is fully equipped if you fancy cooking for yourself and has a washing machine. Shower design is a bit strange and door key a bit tricky (I had mastered it by the end of my stay) but these are minor issues. I stayed here again on my return to Porto and staff kindly stored by large suitcase while I was away. I would love to return to Porto snd would stay here again.

Pedro, the host is a type that combines friendliness with true professionalism. He made us feel welcome and in good hands. Situated just around the corner of all that’s happening in Porto, this Casa is the ideal spot for a ‘home base’ to visit the city. Every landmark is within walking distance. It has pleasant rooms, fine beds and the overall atmosphere is pleasant and quiet. The reception is well informed and their English is more than OK.
