We spent three days in Porto as a family of five. Our kids are 15, 13, 11. The hotel is perfectly situated above the waterfront and near many great walking and shopping streets. The best part of the hotel experience, however, was the service. In particular, the concierge named Sara made all the difference. She mapped out our two days of exploring. She told us all the secret things to see, places to eat, and (most importantly) things to avoid. She checked in with us each morning and gauged our interest on various suggested walks she proposed We felt like we had a personally curated tour of Porto because of Sara. We are very grateful for her personal touch. She made the visit to Porto extra special. Thank you!

- booked double-bed room, we get a room with twin beds. They come and make up beds as double - no water in room. only option is 5€ for 50cc bottle - last day, we didn't put the "do not disturb" sign and the cleaning ladies entered the room twice despite we had to check-out - constant noise from 8am in the hotel - rooms are decent, but not great for 180/200€ per night - I understand 20€/person is a std price for breakfast at such hotels, but probably a bit distant from Portuguese reality ...all in all, I would not go back

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a trip celebrating a combination of my 30th birthday and our first anniversary of dating. The hotel itself is very nice; the lobby has a cool decor and the room was spacious and clean. It is also in a good location for getting around Porto. Not quite in the middle of all the action, but very close. The real star of the show, however, was the Guest Relations team, and in particular, our concierge Sara. We had mentioned that we were celebrating, and shortly after we got to our room the hotel brought up champagne and fruit. Every event we booked through the hotel was amazing. We booked a port cellar tour, and the hotel arranged it so we would have our own private tasting room! I was extremely impressed by how above and beyond the hotel went with everything we did. I would highly recommend anyone staying in Porto stay here.

I stayed at NH collection Porto Batalha for one night during my recent visit to Porto. The hotel has a beautiful exterior and definitely stands out in the neighborhood it was in. The location of the hotel is good and one of the reasons I selected it for my only night in Porto. It was 10 minutes from all of the main sights. The Dom Luis bridge is a short 10 minute walk from the hotel (all downhill) and Clerigo Tower is also a short 10 minute walk. It looked central from Google Maps and now that I have stayed there, I can confirm that it is a good base to start exploring Porto. We arrived in Porto via train at Campanha train station. From there, it was a short 15 minute uber ride. It is an interesting ride as you start from the newer area of Porto and drive towards the old town of Porto. The interior of the hotel was done quite nicely. Due to the nature of the building, the lobby is not particularly big and the check-in desk was fairly small. With that said, it was well organized and there was plenty of staff to help you. The staff in addition to the location is definitely the strength of the hotel. Check-in was fast and pleasant. We were given coupons for a complementary glass of port at the hotel bar when we checked in. We were also able to leave our bag with the hotel staff after checking out. That allowed us to continue exploring Porto until we had to leave later in the afternoon. The room was well appointed and clean. It was the smallest room I had during my stay in Portugal but I did not feel cramped. All of the furnishing in the room was well taken care of and looked great! The main reason I didn't give the hotel a better rating is due to two issues. The first was that the AC did not work very well in our room. We tried to set the temperature to 20 degrees Celsius but it never dropped below 26.5 which was a bit too warm. Since we were only staying one night, I did not bother to complain and have someone fix it. The second issue was that the wifi dropped out a few times. This really wasn't a big issue as I didn't go to Porto to work but worth mentioning. Despite the rating, I would absolutely stay at NH Collection Porto Batalha again. I feel like I might have just gotten unlucky with the room AC and wifi issues are easily resolved. I would stay there again because the staff and location cannot be beat!

I found the decor of the inside of the hotel to be very bland. The hallway looks like a pathway to a cell. The bathroom in our room was misconfigured. You have to walk across the room to get your towel once you shower. There should be a hook on the door and there is no room in the shower for Shampoo and other items. The staff was friendly and helpful. Except for two arches in the main lobby there is no indication that this was a former palace. Actually we found out this was a former post office. The area around the hotel is a transitional neighborhood.

Dear Webguy7095, thank you for your preference in NH Collection Porto Batalha. My team and I appreciate your feedback and we are glad you valued our location, and our guest service. On the other hand, my sincere apologies for not having reached your expectations regarding our décor. I would like to inform you that as the hotel was the main post office of the city and before that a palace, all our decoration is referring to the post office, with stamps and letters details in the corridors and walls of all floors to provide our guests a full “feel the place” experience. Also, I would like to apprise that our Guest Relation and our Front Desk team work 24 hours and are available to help and solve any incident our guests might have during the stay to ensure we offer an extraordinary experience in Oporto. Nevertheless, looking forward to welcome you back at NH Collection Porto Batalha soon ! Sincerely, Francisco Brito, General Manager.
