Excellant Central location. Ideal base for exploring Porto. Close to metro and overground railway. Rooms clean and functional with a free safe. Only obstacle is reception is on first floor up stairs though there is a chair lift and porter.
Small entrance and a very steep staircase. Was together with a handicapped friend who had difficulties to get up. Also quite a drag to get the suitcases up. From reception level there is an elevator. Reception is quite friendly and helpful. The room was small but clean and had everything to sleep at night. However, forget about the breakfast. Too expensive and not worthwhile the money. There are a couple of restaurants just across on Aliados that serve decent food. Not to forget a breakfast at the Café Majestic.…
Hotel Universal in Porto is on an ideal location, you can walk from San Bento station, it is just next to McDonald and the breakfast for two star hotel is great! It costs 7 euros and it is worth it! Rooms are small but have everything you need.
Avoid this place at all costs. From the on site parking that turned out to be over 1k away from this hostel , to the climb up 2 flights of stairs to reach it , it is horrible. The toilet actually in the room and the unhelpful staff , a nightmare , it gets 1 star for its location.
Do you really want to stay at a place where you get the remote handed or together with your room key? Beds are terrible, rooms small, but shower nice. If you have other alternatives I'd suggest you go with one of them.
