You get what you pay for. The hotel is cheap, needs a renovation, but the location is great for a city break. It is located close to several attractions of the city and in the heart of Porto 's nightlife. The noise from the street is ok. Bring earplugs if you have a light sleep. Breakfast is simple, but you...

I stayed in multiple hotels in Porto before I came to Cristal Guest House. I was amazed when I stayed at the Cristal Guest House for the first time. I already loved the environment and night life, but I didn't expect the interior to be so modern and obviously so renovated! I had great laughs with the employees which I...

It has great location - near main square and historical center. Reception was efficient. Room was very small, with only few pieces of furniture - bed, one armchair, one small night drawer, one small open closet, phone and TV. It was quite clean and very bright. During the night it can be very loud, because the guesthouse is between two...

The young guy Tiago couldn't have been more welcoming, friendly or helpful. The room was small but it was fine, the bed was comfy, they maximise the limited space in all aspects. The bathroom was compact but modern and efficient. And the convenience of the location was only marginally affected by the noise from the nearby bars and clubs, and...

We stayed at the Pensao Cristal for 3 nights. Although it was really well located - we were a 5 min walk from the Sao Bento and the Torre dos Clerigos - it was VERY noisy at night. The nightlife seemed to start around 10pm and last until 6am. Also, if you cannot sleep without air conditionning, this is probably...

We have visited Porto a couple of times, but this little hotel its in the middle of a very busy street in the center of the town. People walked on the streets all night and the music from different bars and restaurant filled up the entire night, in the morning a street market pull in and it was wonderful.

My friend and I stayed 3 nights, a great location for exploring Porto. As others have said, it is noisy, perhaps more so because we we there during students' week and a Friday night. Clean, well-priced and decent breakfast coffee. Very friendly and helpful staff. A special thankyou to Tiago for the advice on good restaurants and sights and arranging...

The Location is really good. However, since there are lots of cafe besides it, it can be really noisy. My first night was just crazy noisy. But the second night was much better. Breakfast was nice and excellent. Room is really standard and small, but adequate enough for me and my girlfriend. If you want a cheap Hotel with a...

Really well situated in the historic center. And cheap. Good choice for low budget people who like to have fun because there are a lot if bars around ! Be careful it's really noisily and bed are not comfortable. There is a really good and cheap restaurant next to the guesthouse, you can enjoy a complete menu for around 5...

“Avoid the rooms near the elevator - 311 and 211 IIRC. They are extra loud as you're right at the front of the building and next to the stairs and lift, meaning you hear everybody moving around the hotel.”
