It breaks my heart to only give this lovely hotel three stars. More of why later... First the good points, of which there are many; the location is perfect, it really is. About 100m off the main square Placa De Liberdade and only a 3 or 4 minute walk to Sao Bento Train Station so its ideal for day tripping and getting around. It's even closer to Aliados subway station, maybe 2 minutes. Very close too to attractions like the Torre Dos Clerigos and the Rua Dos Flores. To the waterfront and Ribeira it's a 15 minute down hill walk or two stops on the metro to Jarfmdim Do Morro at the upper cablecar station by the Dom Luiz Bridge. Secondly the staff, a warmer more friendly and helpful group you will never find. They really made me feel welcome and added hugely to my stay. Thirdly it is clean as a whistle, safe with security boxes n the rooms and secure. So why only three stars? Mostly the noise. I stayed four nights and didnt sleep well on any of them. There was a lot of noise from outside which is not the hotels fault. But inside the walls are wafer thin. You can hear everything, literally the smallest noise. And the floors are so noisy, if someone walks around in the adjacent room the whole floor shakes and thumps. All this would be fine if you have ear plugs. The room is small but I didn't mind that. Secondly, the restaurant and bar was closed for 2 weeks. Maybe that's not the hotels fault per se bit still, you'd like to have a beer in the evening or even food the the odd night if you dont feel like going back out Anyway, superb value, decent breakfast included, cjean and safe hotel with fantastic location. Bar the noise it would be 4 or 5 stars from me.…
Reception and all staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast good and varied choice. This hotel is ideally situated for the main square in the historic centre where you can get tour buses, mainline buses and not too far from Metro stops. Our lift to the airport was 18:00 hrs but our room checkout was 12 noon, we where able to leave our cases at the hotel free of charge when we checked out and pick them up later. Our room was a bit on the small side but it was clean and had everything we needed. The room also had a safe. Would stay there again if we returned to Porto, which I hope we will.
Location was great. Walking distance to all attractions. Simple and clean boutique hotel. Simple buffet breakfast was included, which was convenient. Would definitely stay there again. Loved Porto - great, romantic and cozy city.
We have just returned from a five night stay at the Hotel Internacional. The hotel is in the Baxia district and just a 10/15 minute walk from Trindad train station. As soon as we arrived, we both had a good feeling about the hotel, we where not wrong. The greeting was warm and friendly and we where happy with the room (205). All the reception staff were really nice. Our room over looked the Main Street and had a mini balcony. The room was small, but comfortable and fitted out with all that we needed, decent shower, double bed, air on, safe, kettle for tea and coffee and a good TV. Breakfast was included, and it was good. The usual continental style breakfast was fresh, and bacon, sausages and scrambled egg was a nice bonus. If we return to Porto, we will be staying here again.…
We stayed along with some friends for five nights a few weeks ago. Staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable about places of interest. The hotel building is of historic importance and decorated in a slightly Moorish style. Our room was quite small but comfortable - enough room for a short stay although clothing storage was a little tight! Decor was a bit jaded but the room was kept very clean. We faced a side street and found very little noise at night time. Breakfasts were fine for us, plenty of fruit and cereal and very good coffee. We'd certainly stay here again!
