It is a hostel (pousada) in a recent building. It is simple but it as all you need for a cheap trip. The best feature is the view from the room looking to the river mouth. Common facilities such as laundry, kitchen, leisure area.

We selected to stay at this property after a very nice experience at another one of the Pousada de Juventude chain of Portugese youth hostels.We were told that its location is great and the private double rooms and apartments have river views. When we arrived , we had the audacity of being put out a bit by loud young people...

Very friendly staff but with surprisingly little linguistic or 'tourist' knowledge. Made us wonder about recruitment policies - so many multilingual people looking for work, hard to understand why a tourist place doesn't hire them. Overall, everything was basic but serviceable. Others comments about noise and strange breakfast arrangements (rationing of ultra-low cost items and monotony) spot on. In addition,...

Where is it on the map? This place is located half way between the Porto town center and the river Estuary. How do you get there? I caught a train from Lisbon to main station of Porto, Campanha. Fast train takes 2.5 hours while the slower one takes 3.5 hours. I took the slower train because the tickets for two...
