Really enjoyed the convenient location on the pedestrian-only street. We were traveling with the Rick Steves Portugal tour (12 excellent days!) and stayed for 2 nights. All of us agreed that none of the rooms have any view whatsoever, so the small windows looking into the building next door wasn't ideal. But .... convenient to everything; very nice large buffet...

Other reviews are generally spot on in their assessment of this place: nice façade & lobby with good access to the metro, but very small rooms and limited breakfast selection. The hotel does not offer complimentary wifi internet access, which is a serious oversight. The spectacle of guests crouched over a single internet terminal in the lobby is unseemly. Frankly,...

We stayed here for 3 nights and the key draw-cards of this hotel are its great central location in Baixa, proximity to the metro, and its beautifully refurbished common areas on the ground floor. The lobby area and the Windsor Bar have been lovingly restored in dark, luxurious fabrics giving it a plush atmosphere, perfect for a nightcap after dining...

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for four nights during a recent visit to Porto. We came as tourists, and arrived at the airport outside of town. It was a quick and easy train ride from the airport to a station within a block of the hotel, and we were grateful for the accessibility given Porto's hills and...

we stayed two nights in the hotel in 2012. the hotel has 3 stars, but even has small gym (four mashines, but you ll be able to go for a run). Breakfast was very limited, but settings of the hotel is very "noble". Staff at reception was helpful and friendly. Location is convenient for a city visit.

TripAdvisor reviews and photos helped me to choose the Grande Hotel do Porto to a 3-day touristic stay (16th-19th February 2012). Through the hotel website, I booked a Romantic Package to me and my wife, that included free upgrade to a suite, a bottle of spakling wine and chocolates in the room, 5 O´Clock tea (tea and scones with jam...

A very comfortable hotel in a great location with a lobby floor that looks like a movie set for a 19th Century film about the rich and famous. The hotel is excellent value for the money with the location being the premier shopping street in Porto and many restaurants nearby. Easy to walk to most of the old town sites...

Stayed one night too long in the most dreary room imaginable. Booked late so no doubt only the worst rooms were available but it was late and we needed a centrally located hotel with onsite parking. The bathroom in partucular was appalling and although quite large was very poorly appointed and the linoleum floor was in a very bad state...
