The hotel is very basic. Rooms are clean. Some of the staff only speak Portuguese. The walls is very thin so you hear everything that the neighbours are saying and doing. There was noise from the bus station next door. You can hear all the anounsements from their loudspeaker system. My room was with a view over the laundry hanging... More

Situated in a good area, the owners have two buildings, one main building and one which is within a 5 mins walk, in front of a church. We were split in two groups, and one room was in one building, and the other group in the other, so it was a bit of a caos. The place is run by... More

Travelling fast and light in Portugal is made even easier when comes across places like D Filipe 1. Hop off the bus ( which is THE way to move around), walk out onto the street and within metres is this quaint old pensão. The staff were very welcoming, within minutes we were checked in and out exploring Porto. In an... More

We have stayed in two-bedroom apartment, which was clean and at a good location. Price and quality balance is good. It had kitchen which was a big plus as you can make a dinner at home. Also, there was enough space for 4 people. Disadvantage of this place was the staff with poor English (though helpful anyway) and noisy square... More

We arrived at Dom Fillipe around 10pm, and were immediately somewhat worried by the heat inside the building. Having checked in with the friendly, English speaking owner (the only staff member with any English skills), we were led to our room on the top floor, stopping off on the first floor bathroom en route. As we climbed the last flight... More

Is located in a very good central area, I would say almost adjacent to Batalha Square, and there are lots of bakeries and eateries, pharmacy, fruit stand, taxi stand, buses stand, offices of some workers unions are located in the surroundings and the best (well, for us) the buses to Lisbon (and Fatima who want to go there) depart exactly... It was good place of stay. Firstly, really close to landmarks. The main bridges are just 10-15 minutes walk through a nice old area. Really good bakery is just on the right side of the hotel. You can have a cheap and really good breakfast in here. The room we took, had a private shower and toilet. The furniture, and... More
