We made two couples massage appointments thinking we could not go wrong with book with this hotel brand. The spa is in dingy dark basement with no amenities. They had a two person sauna but it was not working. The beds you lay on are not heated and extremely old. They lay towels over you and not the comfortable ones. All around they should just close the spa as it is not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel or what I think guest expectations would be. Suggestion move the nasty gym to a room with a view and make that into a nice plung pool with a proper sitting area. I do want to be clear the women therapist were very nice and decent therapist but whenever everything else is not comfortable, inviting and relaxing then it is just not worth it. SKIP the spa
Great location in the Centre so easy to walk to the river or to main walking and shopping streets. Staff was excellent and accommodating. Room was very comfortable. The breakfast in the restaurant was very good.
Nice hotel with good amenities. It has a very central location however you must note that Porto is digging in the front of the hotel for a new subway stop. There was zero noise inside the hotel. Only minor inconvenience is that to walk in a certain direction you must either walk a few extra blocks or walk thru the dining room and out the back door. The hotel staff was very accommodating. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
the hotel, staff and all amenities are top rate. the attention to detail are what made our stay superb. the location in the center made it more pleasurable. Unfortunately, the city is constructing a metro line in the city hall square in front of the hotel (may 13, 2022 ).Our room overlooked the square but the sound proofing was so good that we did not hear any of the work.
We stayed for 3 nights in May. The hotel is very beautiful and it sits in a fabulous spot. The location is really convenient for all areas. We had rooms looking over the main square in front of the hotel and it was surprisingly quiet even when a football win by Porto resulted in many good natured revellers celebrating close by. They have major Metro underground works going on at the moment in front of the hotel but don't let that put you off. There was no noise or disruption. It seemed very well organised. Staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice bar which we used for pre dinner drinks. Live music on one night. The breakfast was good and the restaurant staff were efficient too. Concierge were helpful to organise transport too and from the airport, they booked a great restaurant for us and were very friendly.…
Everything about this hotel was wonderful. The location, the staff, the rooms, and the atmosphere. The lobby and check in areas are beautiful, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again when we are back I. Porto.
Excellent location with great access to all the attractions. Everything in walking distance. You can't be wrong! There is a street construction going-on but it does not create ant major problem to go in and out of the hotel. Hotel staff is very helpful and accommodating. Food during breakfast has a wide variety of choices.
This IHG property in Porto, Portugal, is a beautiful five star hotel. The rooms are spacious and luxurious as are the bathrooms. The beautiful lobby has an elegant bar and many fine amenities. Due to the current construction outside the hotel, complimentary drinks have been extended to guests. In spite of the construction, the rooms remain quiet. Its location is in the heart of downtown is extremely convenient.
We just spent 4 days in the Porto Intercontinental Hotel. We wife and i have stayed in Intercontinental Hotels in 9 different countries. Overall this may be the best one.the location is superb, the interior is extremely refined, the rooms are of superior quality and very clean. However, the most amazing part was the incredible staff and the service they provide. We arrived by car during a period of major construction nearby and had some difficulty finding the property. I called the hotel for help and a valet/concierge staff member walked several blocks to our car and guided us to the hotel!! Additionally the staff helped to book train tickets, find restaurants, and direct us to important sites in the city. Incredible service! We will return knowing we will have a wonderful experience. Thank you for taking such good care of us!…
This hotel got 3 stars for great concierge staff, very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast variety is nice and so are the servers. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The problem with had with noise every night was promised it was solved and it wasn’t. Free dinner was offered we declined. Front desk is not trained to solve problems. I’m a retired Director of sales and marketing and know they are just not trained right. I would start by teaching them to smile. The Portuguese people are friendly and nice and this was a big surprise to me. THE biggest problem is there is a construction going on outside with noise from 7am-5:30pm That will be going on till end of 2024.
