After being fully refurbished in the first half of 2021, it is now reopening its doors with a fresher, brighter and fully rejuvenated image. It is located in the theatre district, right in the historical centre of the city, in Rua Sá da Bandeira. Next to the entrance, but with its own access, the Il Basilico restaurant offers Italian comfort food flavours in the bruschettas, tortelloni, pizzas and risottos that find their way to the tables. Please consider this hotel for your vacation to Porto. On its own the hotel is excellent with a good breakfast variety. The room was great, the bed comfortable and the hotel was clean. BUT, to me it was the location that makes this hotel 6*. In the historic centre, close to all the old churches and buildings, a short walking distance from the farmers market, the Majestic Cafe, a mall. The other way, you are a 15 minute leisure walk from the river and Gaia and all the Port wine that you can drink.

Hotel's Favorite
The hotel location is ideal. The staff and hotel were excellent and the food at Il basilico was particularly good. We would certainly stay there again. Our room was very comfortable and the bed was exceptionally good.

Fabulous boutique style hotel, staff went above & beyond by helping us book restaurants & tours etc, the Basilica restaurant was top class when we just wanted a quiet evening, the room was perfect, comfy & luxurious & well maintained by the housekeepers. Lovely hotel for a short city break in the centre of Porto.

Fantastically located hotel right in the centre of Porto and close to nearby train and metro stations for getting to/from the airport. The service during our stay was superb, very friendly and helpful team in the reception and at breakfast. Good quality breakfast in a very tastefully decorated restaurant Our room was on the top floor and had a huge balcony with views across the city which was incredible. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone. Faultless.

We had an excellent experience at PortoBay Teatro. Even before we arrived the staff were very helpful with dinner reservations and a tour recommendation. The hotel is perfectly located in Porto for seeing the city, walking to restaurants and shopping. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very gracious. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Porto
