Great room and great location in Porto. Central to everything or quick walk. What makes this place so great is the exceptional staff, particularly Augusta and Antonio, who just went out of their way to assist us with every request with great recommendations.
We had a wonderful stay in Tores 1884 hotel. The Hotel is well situated at the heart of Porto, wide range of selection of nice resto and bars in the hood. What really impressed us the most is the friendliness of the staffs. All of them are very helpful and friendly. There are 2 person we would like to give special compliments to - Daniel, the bell boy; and Ines, the front desk lady. Daniel is very sincere and passionate about his job, he is very knowledgeable about Porto; architecture of the attractions and even the history of the hotel. He always greeted us with a very warm welcome. When we asked for help, he always managed to serve us beyond our expectation. Besides, a big thank you to Ines for helping us to arrange a room as we was misled whilst booking the hotel room; it’s booked for apartment instead. Thank you Ines and Daniel for arranging a nice hotel room for our last night in Porto. Really appreciate their efforts to go extra miles and making our trip very memorable. We highly recommend this hotel.…
Beautiful restored palacio, we stayed in Room 10. Soaring ceiling, stylish decor and comfortable bed and linens. The central staircase and skylight especially beautiful. Some have written of the noisy street below, not an issue for me though that depends upon one’s ability to sleep through an urban environment. The staff showed incredible, genuine interest in ensuring a comfortable stay, always inquiring if we needed any ideas to see in the town. My wife had a one day illness and the staff showed real concern and offered help with tea and drinks.
Amazing staff, great attention to detail and an overall very welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend a visit to the on-site Bartolomeu bistro & wine. The Sea Bass “Bulhão Pato” - make sure you don’t miss out on this signature dish! All in all, a great luxury choice in the heart of Porto.
Amazing stay for those looking for an Oasis in Porto's city center. Staff was uber friendly and ready to help with all our needs even opening up to their favourite restaurants and places around town. Super recomended 🙌
We had an amazing weekend in this hotel thanks to the incredible location in the heart of Porto, the kindness of the staff and the quality of the wine and the food. The hotel and the rooms are tastefully decorated. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to discover Porto !
Our stay at Torel 1884 was truly memorable. The hotel is very well located close to Sao Bento railway station and close to the Douro river in Porto. We could walk to most of the places to visit without using any form of transport. The rooms were large with high ceilings and beautifully decorated, the bathrooms were very nicely tiled and had every amenity that you could wish for. Our room had a luxurious bath, a large desk and large sofa. It was very, very comfortable. The food was also very good, breakfast was ordered the night before but if you wanted something else the staff would accommodate you the next day. Cooked breakfast, croissants, fruit, cereal were all available. The breakfast was finished with coffee and pastel de nata, naughty but nice! The best aspect of our stay though were the staff, led by Luis, who was always smiling, nothing was too much trouble for him, he told us on our arrival that we were part of his family, he could not have been more helpful. The bell boy Daniel was always willing to help and Gustavo the porter was so useful to tell about good bars, restaurants and places to visit. All the staff, too many to mention were so pleasant and always with a smile. Overall, I could not recommend Torel 1884 more highly, it is a boutique hotel with not very many rooms but what an experience with a such a helpful smiling staff. Thank you.…
Great hotel, convenient location, very friendly and accommodating staff. This was an old bank building with high ceilings and a bank safe that is used to store wine and for private parties. The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. Boutique hotel only due to a small number of rooms, but each room is elegantly decorated and each floor has a theme. Close to Luis I bridge, Porto cathedral, Lello library, monastery with great food places around. We would recommend this one over any of the other name brand hotels around.
First of all, a great location, close to restaurants, attractions, and charming streets, but the hotel itself was completely unique. The interiors had to be a designer's dream where "Out of Africa" meets city chic. Even the room keys were unique, the original keys to the hotel room doors that were recovered from a castle. The staff was perfectly attentive, but the bellmen were particularly helpful with service, suggestions for things to see, and very simply . . . conversation. While being in a bustling part of Porto, the hotel and our room seemed perfectly private. We would highly recommend this hotel.
This hotel is in the perfect spot. So close to everything and lots of lovely streets to walk around - loads of fantastic restaurants in easy reach. Rooms lovely - all unique. Very comfy beds. Decor is very tasteful. Nespressos in every room. Lovely soaps and fab shower oil. Food very good though service at breakfast - whilst staff were charming - was haphazard. Funny ordering system which ostensibly done to save waste (understandable) but in reality didn’t really work. However once you got something to eat it was delicious! Worth putting up with as everything else was great. Staff fixed us up with excellent guide who took us round city to lots of great places. Would highly recommend this hotel.
