6Only is a guest house with only 6 rooms--what a concept! But it has been refurbished in a clean, crisp IKEA-inspired way with large rooms, high ceilings, quiet hallways, and a lovely dining room. Breakfast has many choices and the morning staff is quite cheery. It's just a short clip to the bridge or to downtown. Hills abound, but it's a welcome challenge, especially in lovely weather. We especially loved the photography museum in the prison and the hike up the clock tower for a spectacular view of Porto. It's a totally walkable city, and 6Only is a great launching site for the day's activities.
This B&B located near the Sao Bento Station and the Cathedral is a true find. For less than 100Euro per night, we had the top floor suite. With a helpful front desk, generous breakfast, 6Only will be our one-and-only on our next visit to Porto
Don’t mistake It. 6only is a guest house, not a hotel, so keep that in mind. The location is perfect, 10 minutes walk to Sao Bento train station and rua de flores. Add 10 minutes to get to the Ribeira. We had a suite that was at the back of the house, so it was quiet. Room was spacious and full of character. There was a balcony with 3 double doors that opened to the balcony. Bathroom, or the showeroom since there is no bath, was at the back of the bad. The only flaw was the lack of storage space and there is no safe in the room. Breakfast is good and service is excellent.
We stayed for 3 nights and had the the first floor room fronting the street. The property has only 6 rooms in an older style building which is on a very busy road with buses running most of the night (& there is a bus-stop virtually right in front of the building) so bus/ traffic noise was a problem. I expect that other rooms at the rear would be quieter. The room was huge and adequately furnished. However the bed was unusually short & my husband (1.85m tall) hung over the end a lot !The bathroom was functional albeit a little dated in finish. Breakfast was Ok but a broken toaster was a minor frustration during our stay The location is good and an easy 20 minute walk to the river and the city centre attractions- however the return walk is uphill & longer / more difficult Reception staff were very helpful & we consider this B&B to be very good value for money…
Good location - about 10 min walk to the bridge and Gaia. a small fruit store is a 2 min walk. Staff is extremely helpful. Accommodations are a slight downer. Clean but very spartan...like an IKEA store. Decent for a very short stay and for the price
