We stopped for a night in the magical town of Porto as a part of a siblings trip. We had the good fortune of staying at this beautiful guest house while we were there. Every year around the end of June, this town springs to life with the Sao Jorge festival. Staying here made this experience doubly special. Mr. Lopez,... More

Located in a lovely old building, and situated on quite a busy (one way) road, the hotel is quiet and calm. It is about 10 minutes downhill to the Trinidade metro station, but 15 minutes in the other direction. Although not in the centre of Porto it is possible to walk to the old city and the lively riverside. The... More

A beautiful traditional renovated house nearby metro and the lovely city of Porto. Good advise from the owner for attractions and restaurants. House with garden to relax or enjoy your breakfast. Shops for food just around the corner. Ask for a room at the gardenside !

We stayed for 4 nights in a nice room at the front of the building. It was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and plenty of hanging space. The window has been sound-proofed and if all fully shut, blocks out almost all of the noise from the street outside and there is certainly nothing from the outside to disturb... More

Average guest house. The location is good as it's only 15 min walking from the city centre. The rooms are kept in an 'old style' but they are not very practical. Our room didn't have any window, which is very strange... only the bathroom did. The staff is friendly but the internet is absolutely unusable. None of our laptops/phones could... More

We picked this guest house originally for the price, but we found it to be more charming that we expected. It's a little outside of downtown, but really not by much. The staff was very helpful and personable, and are eager to learn about you as the traveler - where you're from, your impressions Portugal, etc. We stayed in a... More

We spent three nights at Alvares Cabral Guest House. Is cosy, extremely clean and close to the public transport. The owner, who welcomed us, is really kind and speaks several languages, which is great. Each room is differently decorated in an original and classic Portuguese way. The house is placed in a good area, has a nice kitchen where u... More

Location, location, location: Alvares Cabral is close to the metro that connects to the airport and within a 10 minute walk from all major sights and things to do. It's not only about the location though, the guest house itself is top-notch. You get a warm, personal welcome and are provided with everything you need: a little history of the... More

Me and my boyfriend loved the place. It's very clean, the staff is nice and the furniture is incredible. The owner knows a lot about the Portuguese History of navigations and told us a bit about the room we stayed "Cabo da Boa Esperança". They serve free wine from Porto and allowed to leave my luggage there while I went... More

We spent three nights here. It was a great location for us - close enough to walk even to Vila Nova de Gaia (all downhill - the walk back was a bit rough), but far enough away that it was quiet at night. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and they have a kitchen available for their guests to use.... More
