First, it is just a beautiful, fun place. Our room was immaculate and we had an enormous bath. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was the best. Helpful with luggage and auggestions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hoghly recommend. bbbbreakfast was

We stayed at here for 2 nights and were completely blown away by the place- it is totally eccentric and fabulous, and only a 10-15 minute walk to the centre of town. We had a garden room which was newly refurbished and spotless. My only 2 minor criticisms being that the wifi was not working during our stay and that...

Yes it is up a steep hill but it is worth the climb. We loved going back to this hotel at the end of a busy day and relaxing in the lovely gardens. It is a beautiful place and the staff are very friendly. We stayed in one of the newer garden rooms which one reviewer said were awful. I...

A charming Victorian hotel with impeccable service. [We wished we could take Mario home with us!] Great breakfast buffet including gluten free bread and wonderful coffee. Chandeliers, wood panelling & tiles everywhere in the main building - the blue cherubs on the tiles around our bath tub were amazing! The main building (no elevator) rooms were a little smaller and...

Staying in a castle is a treat. The atmosphere, character, look and feel are terrific. The outside spaces are very pleasant on a warm evening. If it worries you, some of the fittings and decor are a bit dated, but in my view this is what gives the hotel its character. It is a long walk into the city and...

Hotel is situated at the quiet end of Rua Santa Caterina, but a 5 minute walk soon brings you to the main shopping area and then about 10 minutes later to the river Douro. Uphill walk back but there is a bus service and the metro station, Marques, is not far away. The hotel is old but spotlessly clean and...

This beautiful hotel in Porto is one that should not be missed. The friendly feel of the hotel made it a special place to stay. The castle rooms were very elegant and the breakfast and service good. The hotel is so romantic that I left it with a new fiancé! Will definitely be visiting again in the future!

we spent 2 nights here and I would have given it 5 stars except for no elevator which was an experience when you are on the 4th floor (3rd in Europe) and have a heavy suitcase filled with wine bottles and pottery collected on your trip! Best breakfast we had, excellent location close to waterfront scene, nice and quiet. Really...

It's not a regular hotel. It's more. Pretty gardens, uniquely finished rooms and the best of it all - great staff (I can't recall the name of the manager who sent us to two restaurants where we had the best Portuguese food) who will point you to good restaurants (if you're a foodie - this means a lot!). The rooms...

Castelo Staying at this hotel is a unique experience. We enjoyed ourselves very much. The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good and more than we expected. The ambiance in the gardens was just delightful. You are only a few minutes from a Metro stop in a quiet city location. The rooms in the castle require you to...
