My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights on a vacation to Porto from the US. First the pros: the location is excellent for a tourist, very easy to walk to all the major sites to visit and all forms of transportation easily accessible. The rooms are modern with an excellent, comfortable mattress and the waterfall showers are fantastic with great water pressure. Staff is friendly and readily available, wi-fi is excellent and easy to use. The place gets knocked one star for me for two reasons: (1) the ancillary services are very expensive for Porto - it makes no sense to buy breakfast here for 16 euros for example with so many better, less expensive options within walking distance. Same with laundry service. (2) During our stay for two consecutive nights there was a false alarm with the fire alarm that woke us up in the middle of the night. I undersatnd these things happen and may not be the fault of the hotel, but after two nights I would expect a high service hotel to offer a complementary bottle of wine or something small for the inconvenience - instead there was just an apology note.

The best part of this hotel is the location and service. Right in the center of town and reasonable walking distance to most to most of the places we wanted to see including the waterfront. The service was excellent. We were with a small tour group on while doing some independent exploring a woman fell and we thought broke her arm. We returned to the hotel where the management arranged transportation to a local hospital where she had x-rays and a cast put on the arm. The Staff was both thoughtful and attentive! The rooms are a bit on the small side but very modern and up to date. Felt a little squeezed in with our our luggage. The elevators were timely even though the hotel was very crowded. The breakfast had many options and comfortable seating. Liked the ample seating in the lobby where we would wait to meet up with our friends. College was just ending so there was a great many celebrations going on through the night but even with that it was a relatively quiet location.

This hotel is right in the center of Porto, a 12 minute walk to the riverfront. We were greeted with a glass of Port (excellent) and loved our room. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The lobby is decorated with floor-to-ceiling blocks of cork from which wine corks have been extracted -- very unique.

We stayed at the Porto Royal Bridges for two nights on a two week trip to Portugal. The traffic in Porto is unbelievable and locating the hotel, even with GPS was a challenge. There is no apparent signage easily visible on the outside of the hotel and no place to park. It looks like an office building. While my husband was stuck in traffic, I literally ran in what I thought was the front door and ended up in the restaurant/bar where I was told we could squeeze our car through a small opening on the pedestrian only area and unload our car. No signage indicating any of this. Turns out the restaurant/bar is also the front desk where we checked in. We received two parking passes which we had to pay 30 Euros for which would be refunded and added to our bill at check-out, which seemed confusing, but we gave 30 Euros in cash. Back in the traffic to park our car in a parking garage a block away. Valet parking or having someone at the front door would have been so helpful. The rooms are very very modern and quite nice. The one comment would be the lighting in the bathroom is very dim with no opportunity to raise it. We had selected a restaurant for dinner which looked to be very close and went downstairs to have a cocktail at the bar and ask directions. The bar and restaurant was very minimalist feeling and empty of any guests. The lighting fixture over the bar is very interesting, made from the left over parts of the cork after the bottle corks are punched out. Three staff at the bar/registration could not tell us how to get to the restaurant/street and seemed quite disinterested that we were asking. I presume these people must also be acting as concierge but there was no concern to help. Finally the young bartender was able to point our which way to go. Our drinks were delicious and well made and breakfast both mornings, included in our package was abundant. This is a very nice hotel. It would be helpful to have better signage and staff that is warm and welcoming.
