One of the best hotels i've stayed in ever. rates very highly. Very Comfortable indeed. Plentiful and delicious breakfast . Excellent customer service all through, especially at reception and at the bar. Staff speaks perfect English. Bedroom very cosy and very comfortable. Use of spa at a cost however as a downside. Also 10 minutes out of downtown but taxi costs very reasonable.
I stayed in this hotel during a tour of Portugal with a large group. The venue is modern, well lit and nicely furnished. The rooms big, clean and comfortable. I forgot my eyeglasses in the room when I left. I contacted by email the hotel, that promptly responded and arranged to ship them to my hotel in Lisbon. A warm and heartfelt thank you to the Axis staff for going above and beyond the call of duty. This is the guest service that makes the difference!
We stayed here for only 1 night as we were driving from the UK to Portugal. The hotel has free parking outside right next to the establishment; or you can pay €5 and park your car underground also at the hotels location. On arrival the receptionist Fillipa was amazing in welcoming us. She took us through all the facilities, when we told her of our final destination of Olhao she recommended a less visited beach. She also took a lot of time marking up a map of the city of Porto for us with places to visit and things to do; as well as explaining the options fully for getting into town. The hotel has a spa facility which we were going to use but we were too tired in the end so chose to chill out in our room after a meal in the restaurant. To use the spa there was a cost of €3 per person but you needed to have certain items to use it. These things included a swimming cap and flip flops, all items required for using the spa can be purchased at the hotel. The restaurant was very good indeed again with excellent and friendly staff, the food was excellent during our stay. The atmosphere was good and the place was clean and well presented. The only slight criticism of the food was that the chocolate tiramisu was a little bland but the rest of the food was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent with a range of pastries, continental, hot food and fresh fruit available. Our room was again excellent with a bath and separate shower, it had a decent entertainment tv system with films available to rent along with local, national and international satellite channels; not that we used it much. There are speedy elevators to all the floors which given the hotels size is really needed. Free Wi-fi is on tap. The city centre of Porto is a short metro ride away or you can take a taxi for about €8 which the hotel will call for you. To go in on the metro cost us €3 each for a return ticket; the machines are easy to use and have an English language option. Based on this experience I would absolutely stay here again, although brief our stay was fantastic and I wish we had more time to visit both Porto and stay in this lovely hotel. …
I stayed one night and was really impressed with this hotel. I don’t think it’s a great location as it seems to be far from any touristic spots but the hotel itself is really good, great decor, spacious really comfortable room, great bathroom, great tv. The restaurant is also great, good menu and excellent food, not expensive at all. Buffet breakfast is SO varied and the dessert area is to die for. There is outdoors and indoor paid parking. The only downside is they don’t accept dogs (!) but I hope that will change. Definitely recommend to others.
Great spacious rooms. Very helpful staff. Excellent food at dinner and breakfast. May hear noise from adjacent rooms. A bit outside the center but metro within walking distance. Not sure about price as my room was paid by easyjet following a flight cancellation.
