Best hostel to stay in Porto. Very friendly and helpful staff, couldn't have asked for a better one. Really enjoyable structure with relaxing common areas and a nice garden to lie down and restore your energies. Greetings from italy!

Reached that hostel a little bit offside of the old town of Oporto was the only chance for us to stay because of the summerholydays three other hostels were full and so we did find this hostel just by chance. Without a reservation we had a twenty minute discusion with the staff but in the end we had two beds but in a room without any window and daylight. The hostel itself is not the cleanest what you can see in the bathroom and the kitchen. From the kitchen you have a direct view to the local trainline whitch is a bit noisey. The staff was not really interrested with problems so we left the hostel after two nights in a hurry and so we can not recommand that hostel in Oporto at all.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about this hostel. First off, I was in Porto for a little more than 3 weeks and stayed here the whole time. This hostel is incredibly clean with Lucia (owner) and her staff working very hard to keep it this way. The rooms are clean and boast large steel lockers to store valuables and personal items. There is amazing communal spaces, including outdoor patio and garden with plenty of seating. The kitchen is a decent size and is well stocked with the supermarket being only a few blocks down the street. There is a free (basic) breakfast that consists of juice, cereal, fresh buns and jams. This all said, it is the staff that make this hostel extra special. I actually had a few of the staff take me out and share some of their favourite spots with me, which included watching the sunset from the Palacio de Cristal. Overall, I would recommend and would gladly plan a trip back in the future myself.

I was offered to join the staff for a tasty meal when I arrived. Luzia is a friendly host with lots of information. Our room was rather dark, but comfortable, and the only negative point for me was the breakfast, which was rather basic. A good place for evening drinks, but be careful not to speak too loud as the babushka next door will appear at her window at various times to tell you that you have to be quiet. Friendly staff, and Carola gave me info about a Vegan restaurant which was turned out to be a very tasty place to eat as much you can for 10 euro. Do remember to ask for Luzia's local wine! Another good point is being able to have a kitchen to prepare meals at any time of the day.
