My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here for two nights. We had a room facing the garden and the view was lovely. The room was decorated in all sorts of old decor, as were the three salons (we drank wine at night in front of a fireplace in the middle salon) and the dining rooms, which were decorated... More

Very old rooms, many things broken, not clean. When complained to the owner, she did not even pay attention. It is the first time I bother to write a review at TripAdvisor as it was a horrible expereience.

I just stayed there for one (short) night, but i was completely amazed by everything. The room was big, the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was also big, it thad a jacuzzi bathtub and plenty of soaps and shampoos to use. And the views... oh, the views!... amazing.

The worst hotel (if you can call it that way) I've ever been in to in my entire life! Dirty(!!!), broken, no window, no ressemblence between the site and the reality, and above all, the most rude owner ever. Stay away from this place if you don't want to ruin your vacation!

This is a hotel unlike another hotel. The first impression, it's as if you've been invited by rich relatives to spend a weekend and then realise, they aren't there. We felt we had the place to ourselves despite not being all alone, either. What a place: a stately home bigger than I've ever seen and beautifully decorated. Despite the horrendous... More

We arrived to this ho(s)tel yesterday, a family of five, for 2 nights. Apparently, though we've made the reservation more than one month ago, we received the most horrific rooms on the premises, since all other rooms were ocuupied by a group. I believe those rooms were not touched since the 18th century, when they were meant to serve as... More

We came for 2 nights on a family vacation. The room was simply horrible – dirty (!), not well maintained, cold, no Wi-Fi and more. Simply the worst experience ever. I highly recommend not to book this hotel as there are plenty other hotels, much better in the area. We left after the first night after we complained to the... More

We went to this hotel to attend a family wedding. We had travelled along the Douro by train from Porto to Peso da Regua and 10 minutes by taxi to Lamego, and to the Hotel in a setting of its own vineyards and various fruit trees We could not have been made more welcome by the owner, Viscountess Maria Manuel... Idyllic spot , once you find it , signage could be a lot more obvious , don't rely on your sat Nav. Hotel takes dogs which is a big plus , lovely grounds to walk in. Food although a buffet of a very high standard, but perhaps due to size of tables and restaurant area , they could encourage guests... More

This hotel is an excellent option once one wants to rest in a exquisite environment with very beautiful decoration and wonderful gardens. Swimming pool and tennis courts as well Foos is dangerous for diets! Highest quality Portuguese food and nice wine. Tours available to Regua and Douro vineyards. Close to Lamego and Amarante, where is also agreable to visit
