Excellent two-star that would be a solid three with an elevator. Conscientious staff, decent breakfast (real juice would be great but otherwise very good) and super location. Water pressure can vary. But no real complaints.

Great good value quiet hotel near Old Town. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Clean and very Covid safe with 2 breakfast sittings to make breakfast with no congestion. Small bar on ground floor for residents. Only downside was being on top (3rd) floor with no lift. Would definitely return and just get room on lower floor.

For a 2-star hotel, this is just fine. Simple, clean, with friendly staff (Liliana went the extra mile) and basic comfort. I could have used a kettle in my room to make tea or coffee out of hours but maybe I needed a 3-star hotel for that! It's all you need for a 1-night stay.

small place, accomodating and friendly staff. If driving suggest you book a small car and reseive your parking in advance. They offer sots in front of hotel but tight streets so be advised accordingly. Good location for waliking around etc

I personally feel that Mestre de Avis Hotel is a rather unique hotel. It does not fit the average two star hotel type. The accommodation is excellent and so is the location of this fairly small hotel, whose staff members were all extremelly kind and professional throughout my three day stay. There are artistic pieces everywhere you walk by, from the stairs to the bedroom corridors and even the breakfast hall. I feel this makes it very special for Art lovers but also for anyone who appreciates "beauty".

Nice clean and modernised. Very good room and a good breakfast service, also has a downstairs bar area. Quiet after dark. About 150m from the old town and surprising varied shopping area . Walk a bit further from the town to see the castle and Ducal Palace. If you contact them before they may be able to reserve parking. Ignore the satnav it wont handle the various one way systems.

I stayed for one night at this hotel, but would have loved to stay more. It is in the centre of the most beautiful and historic town, but still relatively quiet. It is very attractively arranged and decorated, and the staff were very helpful and friendly, including when I lost my wallet and its contents! There is a bar and dining room serving and excellent breakfast. Thoroughly recommended all round.

Truly a little gem right in the center of a magnificent town. Very comfortable for a reasonable price. Easy walk from the train. As always in Portugal the people working here were very friendly. Happy travels.

This is a great hotel in a central location. The old city is just steps away. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of attractions to visit and their location, as well as restaurants who serve different cuisines. The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is very good and I recommend that you have it at the hotel. The cost was 7 € and was well worth it. If you arrive early they will store your bags for you, conversely, they will store your bags if you have a later train.

Lovely small hotel, nicely located in a small and at night surprisingly quit street and only a few minutes from the historical town centre. Parking might be a problem however there are several underground parkings around.
