Just steps from the beach, I love this place. I always sleep well here; the staff is friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet is one of the best I've had. Such a variety of items, including freshly made omelets, eggs and pancakes.

We consider the first time in Porto Santo a very successful one. The Vila Baleira Resort hotel, although it requires refreshing, was very clean, the food was very tasty and varied. Each guest will find something for themselves. At the time of covid-19, the service maintained the sanitary regime. In restaurants, the staff disinfected tables, available gloves and disinfection stations on an ongoing basis. The biggest attraction in the hotel was undoubtedly the greatest animation team! Kristyna, Leo, Andre, Ania and the whole team - bravo for you! Children and adults did not have time to get bored. Spending holidays with you is pure pleasure! Thank you!

It is not our first time here at Vila Baleira Porto Santo but it was as delightful and amazing as before. Staff is very welcoming and polite, paying attention to little details that sometimes are unnoticeable. The hotel itself is not wow but the beach and the swimming pool make it worth. Good vibe, lovely weather, 100% safe and enjoyable. It feels that time stops and we do recommend a family visit. Do not miss a visit to Ilheu do Farol. Jacinto is a fantastic guide as well as all the crew. We will come back soon!

The hotel is very nicely placed on the beach, however:
We were disappointed of the service at arrival.
Our room was in the apartment complex.
No help with luggage was offered, just a very bad explanation of where to go.
The room was very much in bad shape, floors and walls where damaged and even our refrigerator was totally broken. This was changed during our stay.
Staff in the reception are helpful but slow.
The staff of the restaurant seems to be very tired and not caring of their customers.
Miscommunication between staff and the fault is put on to the customer, literarily.
One positive thing is that they offer filtered, cold water in dispensers for free.

Vila Baleira resort is located about 4 km outside of the town. It has hotel rooms and apartments. The rooms are big and has a nice balcony. The buffet in the restaurant is quite nice. If you have ordered All Inclusive there is a nice variety of different dishes for evey taste and the produce seems like good quality.
You can rent bikes for free and the car rental is located at the hotel.
They have a spa, indoor pool, outdoor pool, and the ocean very close by. Use the tunnel in the basement to get to the beach and pool so you don’t have to cross the street. The beach is GREAT. Big waves but just sand as long as you can see. You can swim in the ocean even during winter.
A very nice family hotel.

This was the second time me and my boyfriend stayed at Vila Baleira Resort in Porto Santo and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the service provided by the hotel.
The room was big an comfortable and had a big balcony with sea view (at least in our case) perfect to relax after a beach day. It was also very cleaned every day.
The restaurants are open a lot of hours, which is great to provide more flexibility for us to choose the time we wanted to have the meals in order to enjoy the day as we wished. The food was really good. They presented a wide range of options in the main restaurant but we also tried the Dunas restaurant which have theme nights like Italian, sea food, madeira nights, etc. the food there was also great!
The beach is really good. It’s never full which is great during the covid 19 times. The sea was warm and it didn’t have many waves during our stay. The hotel also have a beach bar with a good variety of drinks to enjoy.
The hotel also have activities which we personally didn’t enjoy since we were craving for a few sun bathing days but we noticed they perform games, dances and they have a show every night. They also have a kids club which is great if you’re traveling with your family.
The thing we liked the most in this hotel was the staff. From the maintenance, to the gardeners, the cleaning and restaurant staff, everyone was really really nice and professional. All of them greeted us with a good morning or a good night every time we passed by them. Its great to see that in a big hotel like this one the training of the staff is a priority which is really good and it was perceived by us. A big thank you to Margarida (PR), Duarte (reception) and António (Dunas restaurant) for the remarkable service provide and for being so nice and attentive to us.
We rate this hotel a 5/5 and recommend it either you are a couple or someone traveling with family. I’m sure you will have a great time in the resort.
Keep up the good work :)

Awful sewage smell in the our room, basically ignored by the hotel governance. Every time we came into the bedroom, a nauseous smell couldn't be ignored. There's no way the hotel personel did not feel it, and nobody gave us any note after our call on this problem. Further terrible room experience in the mornings by being forced to listen each of the three elevators up and down from 7am onwards. For a 4* hotel this situation is ridiculous and without the option to switch rooms, it's like a working day start for the entire holidays. What a disappointment and an insult to proper hotel service. At least "give a damn' about the issues and feedback to the paying customer

We stayed here for our week in Puerto Santo. The hotel was very accommodating and we were able to get our room after our ferry ride at about 11:30 AM.
The room was spacious with lots of cupboards, hangers etc.
Most of the guests here are Portuguese and the hotel does a great job catering to families. The beach in front of the hotel stretches for 9 km and you can walk it all. This is a place for swimming, reading, going to the spa, working out and throwing a ball in the ocean.
The hotel has a few quirks. They do not provide Kleenex and when they give you a safe they give you a lock with a key in it so if you wanted to make sure things were secure you would have to take your key with you. Not a big deal.
I have read much about the food. The Buffet breakfast is terrific. Lots of everything and they keep it well supplied. The restaurant manager does a great job! It is a large hotel so meals are a complex operation. Servers were great, a number of them from Nepal.
The other meals. It is a buffet so it is not gourmet dining. There is lots of fruit and salad and sometimes a tasty main course. Considering they have to import almost everything to the island they do a decent job.
We got the all inclusive plus package and I’m not sure if it was worth it. Upgraded wines, free drinks at the beach, guarenteed umbrellas and sunbeds at the beach, late checkout which helps if you are leaving by ferry and a boat or some other trip. We took the boat trip and wish we hadn't.
What we loved most about the hotel was the staff who are friendly, helpful, courteous and go out of their way to look after their guests.

Good experience
Service minded and friendly staff. Very clean everywhere. Only minus was the loud music at the entertainment in the evening which made it impossible talking together in the TV / games room.
