The Pestana Porto Santo hotel is a 5-star all inclusive beach resort, on the island of Porto Santo, Madeira.
It is located on Portugal's best beach, the Porto Santo beach, with 9 km of fine sand and warm water. Just 1 minute on foot from the beach, this hotel also offers 2 large swimming pools surrounded by 30,000 m² of gardens.
Guests can enjoy its 3 restaurants and 3 bars, as well as a Spa area with a heated swimming pool, water jets, sauna, Turkish bath, Hamman and gym. And for the little ones, the hotel has sports fields and game rooms. The rooms are decorated with blue ocean hues and each has a flat-screen TV and balcony.
Myself and my partner went to this hotel in July and enjoyed it so much we returned in September. We arrived around 11am and check-in was quick although our room wasn't ready at the time so we went and had breakfast in the buffet restaurant. By the time we finished breakfast our room was ready so we went there to check it out. Our room was a good size with a good view over the pool area and near the pool bar, reception and the restaurants so very happy with the room. The beach is absolutely beautiful and was so peaceful and clean. I think it's the best beach we have ever been to. We ate in the main buffet restaurant at breakfast and lunchtime and had our evening meals in The Columbus restaurant which had a very ambient atmosphere in the evening. All the food and drink we had was really good with plenty of choice. Pool area was big and there is so much space that there was no problems getting a sunbed any time of the day. The entertainment team were of a high standard and kept everyone entertained. The staff from reception to the cleaners were really helpful and friendly and made our stay both times so special. We will definitely return to this excellent hotel. Perfect place to relax and destress.…
We went to the pestana Porto Santo in late September this is the third time we have been there and we will be going back again next year absolutely love it the staff pool entertainment food room were fantastic well done again x
Still waiting for a response from the hotel manager re: our complaints. Thought I would write here in hope of a reply. Having stayed at this resort on five previous occasions due to our love of the resort. Can no longer promote, definitely no longer a 5* resort.
We were fortunate to stay here in September although I would say I don't think this warrents a five star rating rating the standard of service and commitment of all the staff in my opinion exceeds this. Any query or problem raised with reception was resolved very quickly. Something I have never seen in any other hotel, and I have travelled a lot, on the morning of our departure a member of the management team was there to bid us farewell, nice touch. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a quiet restful break. If I had to make any criticism there are not enough toilets around the pool area. Cleanliness was of an excectional standard. The attitude of the staff cannot be faulted. A special mention to the Tui rep Marin she was a delight, we named her Miss Sunshine.
We were so looking forward to this holiday and took our 9 year old granddaughter away to her very first hotel holiday. On arrival we waited for 5 hours to get a room - it was pouring down and we had to sit in the rain as all the chairs under cover were taken. The room was good but the sofa bed for my granddaughter was like a hard slab so she ended up sharing our bed for 2 weeks. The food was ok but overall not to the standard of a so called 5 star hotel. the A la Carte were awful!!! the drinks were incredibly watered down - if you mix Malibu with water it goes white - guess what colour the liquid was in their Malibu bottles!! the orange juice at breakfast proved it too - I went to get one and it poured pure water. Most of the staff were nice and the entertainment staff were lovely to my granddaughter. some bar staff were rude and clearly don't like the English all that much. The beach was outstanding - the best part of the holiday without a doubt. The pool was ice cold and so proved too much to enjoy. Around 70 % of the holiday makers were Portuguese and they clearly dont like the English - they would push you out of the way and knocked my grand daughter over without any care at all. this island has so much potential but lacks trips etc - so can be very boring indeed. If you want a place to stay where you do nothing and dont like alcohol then this is the place for you. I dont drink much but do look forward to the odd cocktail on holiday - unfortunately this hotel did not provide that. I am bemused by the good scores here as 90% of the British people who were on holiday while we were there complained about the service, the food etc and all said that it was 3 star at best and they would never return. I think TUI should re rate this hotel as the rating is misleading and very disappointing. sorry but I really do not recommend this hotel at all.…
