Detailed Reviews
I would give full points had there been a more varied breakfast, but other than that, the hotel is absolutely fine. Great location, good friendly staff, and a perfectly functioning shower :)
There is a little fridge in the room but no coffee or tea making tools, so you might want to take your own.
Breakfast is 98% the same every single morning. Different bread, one type of cheese and ham, marmalades, cereals, apples, and pears.
All in all, a great accommodation nevertheless!

Central hotel, no luxuries, for those who just want to sleep and breakfast. Supermarkets and fruit benches nearby and walking tours with everything at hand. Receptionist very friendly because he advised to park in the other hotel of the group and we even used daily the pool, on the top floor, with interesting views. Our rented Fiat 500 made 700kms in 4 days and was magnificent stay on this island. Thank you Funchal!

Stayed in the fifth floor. Balcony was a joke so do not worth paying extra money. Cleaning was not working at all. I got some broken class to my toe in the first nite from moving the bed.. reception was good and the young lady at the breakfast. They were helpful

So it's like this, the air conditioning only makes noise, it's not cold, the Wi-Fi signal, when there is one, is intermittent, like the television receives the signal via Wi-Fi, TV is also something to forget. Speaking of forgetfulness, the request at reception for a triple plug fell into oblivion, because the TV, fridge and floor lamp, these 3 pieces of equipment were for one socket (see photo). Therefore, we had to choose, either a refrigerator, or a television (no signal), or a lamp, a must. The location of the hotel is good, in terms of cleanliness, nothing to say and the breakfast, which was poor, did not compromise. In short, the accommodation was reserved with certain conditions for a few nights' rest and this did not happen for what was essential, sleeping. With the heat it was difficult to fall asleep and we woke up in the middle of the night, equally hot... this reserve did not fulfill its function.

Clean and safe but responsive. There were no duvets and duvet covers, only blankets and sheets which didn't feel so fresh. Also, it was very simple breakfast; fresh bread and some fruit but no vegetables and the filet or if it was yogurt felt diluted, same with the juice. It was mostly like weak juice. And the internet didn't work in the room, which didn't have an electrical outlet. In that case, you had to pull out the cord for the refrigerator and use that outlet.

Stayed here for a week with my Mum. Wanted somewhere central so we had everything on our doorstep. This hotel fitted the bill perfectly. All the shops restaurants and bars were all easily on hand. The staff were amazing- nothing too much trouble. Great recommendations for dinner, the best Puncha and all the must see attractions. Room was large with great high pressure shower and immaculately clean. Will definitely return. Have the use of the sister hotel Windsor with its rooftop pool and nice foyer bar which we frequented regularly and loved the staff there too,

I couldn't open the curtain because the view was simply a huge tree right in front :-) in other words, there was no view :-) The hotel is not new at all but overall it was enough to sleep and have breakfast. Breakfast does not have variety but overall it is satisfactory. The hotel is very well located, you can walk everywhere.

the hotel is in the centre of Funchal yet our room was quiet and very comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the back and an ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style and served from 7:30 to 10:00 am. Next to the hotel is a supermarket which is open until late. Just a few minutes walk and you are in the Old Town with its fantastic bars and restaurants. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Brilliant value for money.

This was nice moderate hotel in the centre of Funchal. If you prefere hotel with short walking distance from everywhere in Funchal centre this is your hotel. No pool in the hotel. Hotel was small with very helpful staff. Room we had was with balcony to the silent side of the hotel. Breakfast was very basic but good enough for us. Therewas also a minimarket on next building if you want to buy something to eat or drink. Hotel was 100 m from main street and very close to Mercado dos Lavradores market place and also the old town.

GOOD
Very central great location.
Possible free parking at hotel a few doors away but not guaranteed. Only a few spaces so first come first get.
Supermarket next door is handy.
BAD
Chopped up foam cube pillows were very strange.
Thread bare towels.
Terrible breakfast/ stale rolls. Basic. All served in a tiny windowless room.
Ended up going to the cafe down the road.
