We had read the mixed reviews of Residencial Vila Lusitania and enjoyed our stay with a few reservations. Our room was large and quite but the shower was very poor as was the TV, we bought a travel kettle with us as we knew they went not provided. The breakfast room is very small and a couple of times we...

We really enjoyed staying here. The family run Vila is very welcoming, it is kept nice and clean and the maid service is very good. Some people will find the furniture a bit dated , but we were fine . Good access to town and public transport .

The hotel has a simple equipment - at least our cheap room had but we had a great view over the city with a terrace. The matracces were too soft ad the toilet seat broke after one day. But when we told the staff they repaired it. Also you can here everything from toher rooms - toillet, people speaking or...

This place is just fantastic It is fairly basic but when you have just been there a few days you are not part of a holiday, you are part of a family warts and all. Anna and Jose cannot do enough for you, If it is broken (and it generally is) then they will fix or replace it. I have...

This is a gem of a hotel!! It is conveniently situated within two miles walking distance of the old town, with plenty of buses only five minutes away. There is also a great choice of restaurants less than five minutes away. Breakfast was a surprise with a choice of cooked or cold. Staff are so friendly and helpful, they will...

The Vila Lusitania is a small and friendly hotel, situated in a residential area of west Funchal above the Lido and the main hotel region of the town. We found the staff were very helpful and quite friendly. Our room was quite small and the furnishings were old fashioned, but it was quite comfortable and was sufficient for our purposes.It...

From our point of view - Vila Lusitania is the most beautiful accommodation in Funchal. It is lovely, comfortable and peaceful. It is situated in two nice villas with an amazing view to the ocean and the western part of Funchal. There is a nice pool with salt water, quite big, you can see the ocean from it, which was...

Was there in august 2014. Cons: - everything in the room is really old : the wardrobe , the beds, the tv(small screen and you can barely watch it from the bed) - the springs from mattress make the sleep a nightmare - no net for the insects at the window ; so you can try to sleep , with...

The Vila Lusitania is a quaint cute B&B located in a residential neighborhood overlooking the sea above the lido. The location is perfect as you can walk very easily and safely to many excellent restaurants, markets, bus routes and major attractions. I am a single woman traveling and loved the location as well as the proximity to walk to the...
