3 of us,all adults, stopped here for 10 days mid December, the location was perfect, right in the heart of Funchal, but that was the only thing good about it, the food was constantly cold when meant to be hot & the choices of food were worse. Repainting, (which by law they were meant to inform us about before travel) was...

Three of us have just returned to the UK ( Cornwall ) after spending two weeks at this Hotel. I have to say we could not fault it for the price. ALL the staff were so welcoming and friendly. Ok may be for some people , the bedroom furniture may be a little dated, but it was kept very clean...

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was clean and everything worked with lots of hot water at any time. The breakfast was satisfactory with several choices. The location was excellent being a 10 to 15 minute walk to the sea front and the old town where several restaurants are located. Roof pool and terrace were good...

We booked this hotel in August 2016 specially as we wanted to be in Funchal for New Years Eve. After a flight into Funchal, and no prior notification we were told some ludicrous story about a guest who was booked into hospital so could not vacate our room. The lady at reception had made other arrangements to send us to...

We had a room booked at this hotel for New Year's Eve. It had been reserved since the previous JANUARY!!!!!We even had an e-mail from them 5 days before 31st December reminding us of the booking. When we arrived to check-in we were told they had over booked and we could go to Jardins da Ajuda which is miles away...

We thought the hotel was ideal, in a perfect situation in the heart of the old town very close to a huge variety of eating places, within very easy walking distance of the harbour, and all the other main attractions such as the cable car to Monte, the Fort, the castle etc. The room we had was a nice size,...

Most tourists to Madeira will stay in the touristic zone to the west of Funchal, with an internationally exchangeable atmosphere. Whoever wants to enjoy instead the charm of an attractive and typical Portuguese town with cobbled Calçada streets, with old buildings, nice shops, typical markets and good tradtional restaurants, should go for a hotel in the town center. The choice...

Having read the mixed reviews on trip advisor I was more than a little sceptical about what to expect from the Hotel Windsor. We are only half way through our week here and I'm already counting the hours until I go home. Firstly the hotel... I am inclined to agree with those that place it in the 2* range, it...

This is an ok hotel and we had a nice stay for 4 nights but we couldn't stay longer. The positives are the hotel has been nicely refurbished, large rooms and bathrooms, fantastic central location, friendly reception staff, lovely pool and area around it. Negatives there is no AC, not sure if it was just the 5th floor where we...
