We enjoyed our stay, the location is key to us, in the heart of old town with great views and a lovely balcony to enjoy the view. Breakfast was well organised, socially distanced with strict hand sanitizing prior to visiting buffet. Lovely to sit outside every morning. Work on the area outside the hotel was intrusive at times but not unduly so and didnt spoil our enjoyment. At this difficult time the staff are efficient and pleasant but somehow have lost their spark if enjoyment but this is understandable. Enjoyable, we will return.

Hotel's Favorite
Our first visit to Madeira that did not disappoint. Hotel is an excellent location with easy walk to most locations . Certainly best location for seafood restaurants with dozens of small family run places within a few yards with excellent food. Hotel staff are very friendly and breakfast has a large choice for all tastes. Lovely sea and harbour views from our balcony , the weather was fantastic for February with 24 to 28c most of the 10 days of our stay. We only ate once at the hotel which was for dinner but with so much choice on the door step we liked to try somewhere different for almost every meal. The only minor gripe is both indoor and outdoor pools are only 1.1 meters deep which is a bit shallow for serious swimmers. Tip take the cable car to the monte palace gardens then take a toboggan ride down it’s a great day out.

Our third visit to this hotel. Perfectly situated on the seafront of Funchal in the Old town area,. Easily distance to town centre and handy for bus station and cable cars. Spotlessly clean with high covid measures in place .Friendly staff. Was very sorry that our stay was shortened and had to fly home earlier than planned due to the lockdown in UK. Will be back at this hotel.

On my sister's recommendation, we flew to Madeira as in these CV19 times it was still green which made the return home free of isolation. What a great recommendation. The hotel is classicly modern, on the promenade in the old town and quite simply excellent. The place is spotless and the staff are incredibly helpful and hard-working. Breakfast was a buffet, hot and cold, though on our last day this was changed to an a la carte service with hot food cooked to order. The quality and choice were fantastic and a special mention for the breads and croissants! The restaurant had an excellent and easily understandable one-way system and hand sanitisers were apparent and kept topped up everywhere. There was musical entertainment in the bar every night and from 1800 to 1930 a Happy Hour offered a wide range of cocktails at about €4 each. Sadly the indoor pool and the spa were closed for obvious reasons but it was possible to use the gym on an appointment system. We made great use of the third floor Sun Terrace which we had to ourselves most days and which afforded great sea views and surrounding Funchal. Certainly a hotel - and an island - we would return to without hesitation. Everything was just perfect for us.
