We recently stayed at this hotel for a week over Easter. We booked via one of the usual websites which was painless. The hotel is a lovely old colonial style house with an annexe housing a further 10 or so rooms looking over the bay. The hotel is approx 5-10 minutes walk from the old town and restaurant area. The...

This is a lovely hotel with a boutique feel about it. The rooms are immaculate, view across the bay outstanding, a lot of attention to detail has gone into designing the rooms and hotel and the location is excellent for the old town and harbour. The beds are comfortable, rooms spacious, bathroom spacious (a nice touch when so many hotels...

we stayed in room 204, booked through Easyjet holiday sale in January this year. On arrival we were helped to park in the under ground garage, helped in with our luggage then sat in comfy chairs with a glass of the hotels own mint juice/cold ea form the herb garden. Our room had a view across the harbour and we...

The hotel arranged for us to be met at the airport and delivered safely at the hotel. They had made sure our room was ready despite us arriving before 10am. Very welcoming and a lovely big room. The hotel rooms are modern and there are plenty of comfortable places to sit in the hotel and a lovely garden to sit...

Very close to botanic gardens, bus outside hotel and close to old town restaurants and bus station for buses across island. Ideal hotel if you want the option for self catering on occasions. This unusual hotel is located above one of the older parts of Funchal. It is just 10 minutes walk downhill into the centre and to the restaurant area. If you prefer not to walk there are a number of buses that pass by the door. The staff were all delightful and very helpful. Eating (a delicious) breakfast on the terrace...

We (4 adults) had a very good stay for a week over New Year 2015/16. A couple of guests watched the fireworks for NYEve from the terrace and said it was ok from there. We had large double rooms, kitchen facilities, plenty clothes storage, on first floor with full length window - the bay view partially obscured by trees. Heating...

Wandering the property, you will delight in stumbling upon hidden vistas, or encountering the latest urban photographic print from 2016 curators Urbanistas Digitais. Tended to by their own in-house gardener, the grounds boast exceptionally rare plants and ageing trees, such as Madeira's bewitching "Dragoeiro". Breakfast holds claim to strong, Portuguese coffee and homegrown, organic herbal teas and fruits. The charming service team will welcome you "home" as cherished friends and family, assuredly sharing with you the island's best kept secrets. Furnishings in the rooms are bright and breezy with wooden floors and air conditioning throughout. All rooms are connected to complimentary wireless internet, many with well-equipped kitchenettes and open terraces. Suites are located in the original mansion, while the studios are situated in a modern annex. Covered, on-site parking is both secure and complimentary.
