What an amazing find. We stayed in Villa 1 with its private courtyard which was perfect as it was very peaceful we loved eating our breakfast outside in the sunshine and even decided to cook a few evenings after been out sight seeing all day. The kitchen was well equipped one of the best . Paul our hosts was very...

Loved this villa. Had our own private courtyard with beautiful flowers and plants and it was so peaceful. Host Paul friendly, helpful and discreet. Kitchen was supplied with everything you would ever need: utensils, crockery, gadgets and cleaning stuffs. Even a dishwasher which we didn't use. Located up a hill ( as with most things on Madeira!) so good for...

Our room, no.4 was at the back of the complex of only 5 apartments. Everything possible had been provided and the cleanliness was excellent but you could see that very little upgrade had been made for quite some time. There was no paint peeling off the walls, and everything worked properly, but the villa really looked like something from 20...

We were in villa 1 which didn't have a bath but had a fabulous shower. The private walled garden was a delight to sit out in at the end of a day walking and sight seeing. The villa was very well equipped and we could not have expected any more - especially considering how reasonable the cost was. We hired...

Vilas Oliveira is situated along a suburban street 10 - 15 minute walk from the old town of Funchal. An unimposing metal gate opens onto an oasis of peace and tranquillity; a patterned pebble pathway leads under an ancient bougainvillea tunnel to the little villas in the owner Paulo's large garden. The location of Paulo's villas is not ideal if...

Stayed four nights in march. Very happy with this choice, the villa had plenty space, absolutely everything provided down to washing up liquid and a couple of bottles of water (which we used and replaced). Sheets and towels changed after 2 days. Villas 1 & 2 are set within a walled garden so you have complete privacy, 3 4 &...

First of all we have to say we had trouble finding the place! the street is one way and when you drive down it all you can see are high walls and garage doors! There is a very small sign that says Vilas Oliverias but it took us ages to see it. Paul the owner was a lovely man and...

Funchal is full of hotels, allegedly expensive from the old town to not too bad at the LIdo. Vilas Oliveiras is in the Old Town but with access everywhere and a wonderful tranquil oasis in a hub of buzz. The apartments have Living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. All Villas take in the morning sun which is glorious even at...

Stayed at Vilas Oliveira as a couple, for a late summer self-catering holiday in late Aug/Sept 2014. What a little gem! I don't know where juliamike stayed but it doesn't sound like the same place at all. Our experience was of a peaceful, tranquil set of villas and gardens set back from a quiet street, which nonetheless keeps you within...
