First thing that struck us was the silence and the serenity. Beautiful garden, great, clean rooms and very friendly staff. The food served (new menu every night) is of higher standard than any other place we have tried on Madeira. Top gourmet class food and extremely nice staff.

We spent a portion of our honeymoon here. This hotel is outstanding. We had a room with the most breathtaking view of the hills and the clouds coming in over the hills. The breakfast was the only part that I think could be changed a bit because I'm not into a English breakfast.

It's a lovely old house,high up in the mountains. Peaceful and quiet, just outside Santo Da Serra. A car is essential. Wonderfully helpful staff led by Susanna. Good cooked breakfasts, limited but decent evening menu. But don't forget you are 2000ft up in the mountains, so

This is a lovely place; it has real charm and character. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I think it really appeals to an English audience even though they seem only to get limited visitors from the UK. Christmas there was lovely. Excellent view from the balcony. Great
