If hotel amenities and broadband are a priority for you, look elsewhere. If a family home (albeit a very large and distinguished one) with charming hosts (Kathy and Luisa), Debussy played on a baby grand close to your bedroom balcony, and the greenest of wooded views from the swimming pool attract you more, you should not miss this. The approach... More

This is probably the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. We held our wedding celebration here and booked the Quinta for the entire weekend. Luisa (the hotel manager) is just incredible. She helped us through the process even giving us advice for our special day. She was extremely accommodating, understanding and present. We were 21 all together and... More

Quinta de São Thiago is an amazing place in the country side of Sintra. We decided to get married there because this place is gorgeous and also it feels like you are getting married in your own home. Everyone was very kind, breakfast is delicious, the garden is beautiful and all the bedrooms are cosy.

Was a bit difficult to find, and the narrow downhill unsurfaced road looked a bit scary, but I cannot add anything on the negative side. Rooms are lovely (we saw several), with nearly medieval atmosphere but quite modern comfort-wise. We didn't have a chance to use the swimming pool (which does exist), but we had a wonderful breakfast (varied, tasty,... More

Old fashion "quinta" very interesting and full of history of a family; comfort to be improved as the whole enviroment is located in a beautiful and peaceful location with large garden and good size swimming pool.

Though, around Sintra, there are many 'quintas' (historic rural properties with an old and beautiful mansion at the centre), this is the only one I know that is open to the public (to stay). This particular house appears as half family home and half hotel, a combination that works well because of the welcome extended to the guests and the... More

Warning :) - Don't arrive at night. This is an old rebuilt farm. The decoration are good, are a very quite place where you can smoothly rest. The breakfast is divinal. Now the bad things. The access is very poor (I advise to go with a 4x4 :)). If you arrive at night, like me, at first you will think... More

This beautifull property is in a secluded location. If you want quietness and an amazing view into Sintra's forest then this is your place. If you love places with their history and a personalized experience don't miss this place. Having a car is fundamental and better if it is rented as the road is in a bad shape with lot's... More
