Was very pleased with this hotel in Sintra. Walking distance into the commercial area but it is in a very quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was delicious and the two ladies who worked here were very helpful and friendly. We highly recommend!
Be ready for a very steep 7- or 8-minute uphill walk to the town, and another 15 or 20 minutes to the better restaurants. Driving isn't much easier, with all the hills and one-way streets. We would probably stay at the Tivoli Hotel in the center of town if we visited again. If you do stay here, we recommend taking a taxi or Uber to Pena Palace, and then walking down from there to the Moorish Castle, Quinta Regaleir and back into town.
Spacious Room (#6) looked out on Pena Castle (I think it was Pena it was foggy) at night. Beautiful outdoor terrace for picnic dinner or cocktails. We particularly liked the classical music in the lobby, the guest bar, the laundry service availability (reasonable charge), close distance 10 minute walk to Sintra's central plaza. Charlotte and her staff were responsive and very helpful with suggestions. We want to try and go back again, can't say enough good things. Oh and the breakfast (french press coffee, tea, eggs, french toast, local bread, yogurt, and more @ reasonable charge).
Beautiful villa. An 8-minute uphill walk to historic Sintra. A hot breakfast was nicely presented. The gracious room was surrounded by a balcony with a lovely view of surrounding hills featuring forests, the Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. Lovely breezes filled the bedroom. Nice modern décor. The hostess recommended nice restaurants which she reserved
Have to give them five stars for what they offered us during our stay. From the moment we arrived to the time we departed all was perfect. Cleanliness, noise, view, meals, and staff all made for a great 3 day stay. Could not ask for a better place to stay after arriving from Canada on a long flight and getting ready for a two week tour of Portugal. Don’t hesitate to consider this property when coming to Portugal. My wife and I loved it. Make sure though that you arrange with the hotel for parking if you are driving. They helped us through this and it worked out great.
